NVIDIA games boss Roy Taylor has said that he doesn't understand how PC gamers can justify stealing from their heroes like John Carmack, Tim Sweeney and. He believes that to combat piracy we will begin seeing more digital authentication and PC games won't be products but more of a service. ""You're going to start out with a basic service, which is the game, and then increase the value of that service through patches, mod packs, expansions, maps and so on. That's the direction it's going to go, because the pirates are just killing the developers - and I think it's really unfair, what they're doing." said Taylor.

They are really losing it, make better games (and you need some exclusive stuff for that and not just ports), don't release half-baked products with 12 patches to install, don't bother with intensive protection that will either slow down the system or hassle the costumers and you will see more sales, how complicated is that? Bunch of wankers, the lot of you!
Seems like you can pirate the xbox all you want and nobody seems to give a flying fuck, you pirate a pc game and you are a terrorist, unbelievable, it's all about the sales these days it seems, 1 million sold isn't enough for these bastards anymore they want 15 mil. like gta or something, once big money and business get in it gets ruined and corrupt just like football, it happens everytime.

Well, nVidia wouldn't want to blame developers for making games with steep requirements. After all, they're the ones who gain whether or not people pirate it.
Besides, what they really should be blaming are publishers. Developers don't lose money even if a game bombs since they're paid by the publisher anyway.

Nvidia is a part of the "PC gaming alliance"...I think it's their sworn duty to say stuff like this.
plus Roy Taylor is even one of the board members.

Maybe the xbox its less pirtated because most guys are afraid to flash the bios because of live
If the xbox get a bootcd simple as the dreamcast without the risk of get banned of live maybe less people will be inclined to buy originals

i think it's good, better that than they quit making games for us... think about it, how would you feel if u made a game or a movie and someone steals it and post it on the net before the release and u won't sell enough to make up for the expenses needed for the "product"?
