Wow, thats a crazy comparison. The 360 in clearly superior. I thought they were more on par, i guess not. Maybe its because the ps3 version in only @ 640p native while the 360 version in 720p native?

Dammit, I fucked up the sticker while opening the box, there was some silver stuff left on the box. The FW flashing was easy as pie, but my warranty is gone now. Oh well, I hope it doesn't get RROD.

It's easy the key is to make sure you have someone to hold the hair dryer on there still while removing the sticker. Just be careful to keep the hair dryer on a low setting i used high and cooked my power button.

I thought I was on the verge of melting the plastic, so I stopped. The sticker comes of relatively easy, but even the slightest screwup is noticeable because of the silver residu.

After reading this post i have to ask why talk about copying/ backing up media types/ fw / how to keep warrantys valid etc etc.. because hell MS and Sony would never come to a site like this every day of the year and gather info from posts like this, direct from the horses mouths so to get info to actually do something about it. u guys will be the source of your own downfall and you will all be on here crying about bans etc... i understand what this site is about but this is just blatanty stupid, when a certain % of 360 users are using copies MS will be forced to take action. But what do i know i am a dick head, my mom sucks cock and my grammas crap so save your flaming.
As for framerate, the 360 version runs smooth, while the PS3 is a jaggy mess that chugs along in slow motion.

Well i think rather then taking the info from here they would probably take it from one of the other 1000's of sites that are dedicated to xbox modding and etc. Why don't you go and register on those to state your complaints.

there are hundreds of sites talking about this, complete with guides and even videos. Shit, there are about 10 videos on youtube just about removing the warranty sticker.

If anyone is around ... quick question:
booting from USB key after using Iprep -- I tried to make sure my computer could boot from USB, but it just seems to freeze (not freeze but keep reading from USB key forever).
Do I need to have the xbox hooked up to SATA in order for the bootable USB to work?

It has a chip against flashing, so you'll need to desolder that chip and solder it back on. Flashing a BenQ was really easy, took me not more than a minute. Opening up the Xbox is probably the most difficult part, but even that is easy.

Yeah, that's how my warranty sticker looked like but I put it back anyway, don't see how you can take it off without messing it up, the sticker sure it peels of but there is a layer of paste underneath it could be a new trick by microsoft, heating it up will only melt it and you will be left with a bunch of diarrhea under your sticker pretty obvious that you messed with it. I'm pretty sure that if your local store is authorized to fix the xbox it just rips the sticker off than puts a new one on, they probably have a box full of warranty stickers if I only new where they keep it

I don't think local stores fix your console. As far as I know it always goes to MS. Do they really sell these stickers on Ebay? Are they real?

One store does but they sell modded consoles as well so I guess they can only fix those.

I have a 360 for about a year and a half now.
I flashed it about a year ago and fucked up the warranty sticker in the process...
It worked fine until last december when i got RROD. So i went on ebay and thought what the hell, nothing to lose anyway. It's not quite cheap (i paid mine around 35$) and it looks a bit weak (not a beautiful hologram like on the original) but still very convincing.
So i cleaned the residues of the old one on the box, heat up a bit the back of the sticker w/ a lighter and paste it on the box.
I then made a few calls (repair service was so lame), a UPS guy showed up to pick up box, and the same guy came back 10 days later w/ a repaired box and a 1 month Gold offer for XBL.
So eventually, i got myself a new mobo w/ the additional heatsink, a brand new MS warranty sticker (which looks nothing like the original one), and my flashed drive is still in the box.
As far as i'm concerned, i don't play on Live, i won't open it again to update the fw.
