The poll question is referring to a night of partying!

Are you an alcoholic?

I guess i should say, would a text book define you as one.

I voted 7+ although depending on if i pull an all nighter it can be quite a few more then that! I am just interested in finding out what the majority of people think is normal. Apparently, where i live the amount we consume is appalling to most people. However, anytime i go somewhere it seems like it's fairly similar.

I don't drink very often now. The hangovers I get seem to last longer and are stronger the older I get.
I went out for my birthday and to be honest I wish I hadn't.

I am not saying every night, but when you went out/had your party. How much booze did you drink?

Just trying to figure out where the hell all these places get off saying normal people only have 5 drinks when they are partying. To me that is unheard of, maybe 5 if your the driver!

If I'm trying to get drunk, it's at least a 12 pack or a 2-6 ... but every night, well that's only a couple drinks Razz

It seems to me even people that almost never drink have more then 5 drinks for a special occasion.

dude, i am in a studentclub, and i am a moderate drinker their. I always remember what i do, i never throw up, i never do stupid shit, i can go home without problems etc.

But even i can drink 10-15 pints of beer (once a week, wednesday is our party night) and im skinny. After the final exams in june, thats the only time, once a year, that i drink i dunno 20-30/day. I start @ 10-11am after my exam and i finish 24h later. Am i an alcoholic? no, just having fun now and then.

You should alter your poll 1,2,3,4,5,5-7,7-10,10-15,15-20,20+ Wink

I know guys who can drink 4 pints at fundum in 20 seconds, they will be disappointed to see the poll only going till 7+

Three, every night. rarely more. Sometimes less or nothing alcoholic. I drink coffee during the day & beer or wine, perhaps a shot or a mix or two for the misses @ night after the snappers are put to rest.. Smoke when we can find a clean batch, would trip on liquid over weekends but its scarce these days .. the old lady likes mushies but I would rather eat a live cockroach than a handful of mushies.

Out of interest there are two kind of alcoholic .. the kind who cant feel good about themselves without a drink & the kind who cant help drinking all of the alcohol in sight. I have been the latter @ times when I'm hating on myself & just want something to make me pass out. Me too these days.



I used to have maybe 4-5 ounces about 3 times a week. According to Tabers Med Encyop. that is a problem. According to that book a male should drink more then 4 --5 drinks a night, if he does then it is binging. For a women it is 3-4. A hangover more then 2 times a year means you have a problem according to this book. If you binge every 3 days (4 ounces or more) you are doing perm. damage to your organs, mainly your liver. You also damage your kidneys and your pancreaes.

Everybody I knows drinks more than that, but still I am trying to cut down.


Sorry I am such a kill joy. Sad But this is the hard truth.

I dont drink every night.. but when i do drink (We norm go out into town on wed, fri and sat nights.. sometimes thursdays to) I drink alot.....

And yes i have rather extreme hangovers...

Thanks for your support.

If anyone can learn something from me that is a good thing. It will always catch up with you in the long run. I have a problem with drinking and it is not cool. It is a bad habit and I would never want anyone to follow in my footsteps. Same thing with weed. I am sure some people will call me a loser and that is ok.

I actually almost never drink anymore.. Three years ago, when i started going to uni, we drank atleat once a week, going out and shit. It was fun as hell.

But nowadays, if i get drunk, i get MAD hangovers. My body is just shaking, no matter how much i eat or drink, my body is so damn weak.. That's why i barely drink anymore, this year, if you count new years eve, i've been drunk TWICE.

Oh well, it's not like i care anyway, i'd rather be sober and skip the hangover.

I know, the older you get, the more you feel it the next day. You feel like shit if you drink too much.

When I go out I enjoy not drinking because I get to watch all the people that are still drinking and you can allways tell. They act really flirty and loud. I might have a few drink on my birthday which is comming up but other then that I am going to say no.

heh, i don't know, really. Maybe it was because i was drinking often back then, and my body was more used to it then? Then i had a long, long period of time when i didn't drink a drop of alcohol, and now here i am, with the massive hangovers. I don't know for sure, i don't know how it works Razz AM, care to explain? Smile

I tried out the moonshine before my birthday; didn't feel anything. Then the next time I tried it I really felt like shit. I was drinking twise of what I did before tho (and 3 beers).. but from NOTHING to SO fucked up :\ Meh... its strange.

Never mind AM, I am going to tell you that you are getting older and your body doesn't want it anymore. On an empty stomach you are prob fine with 4-5 drinks but anymore and I am sure it will do you in. Smile I am a real loud mouth tonight.
