Ok so i'm building a real HTPC this summer and making my current movie-pc into a pure movie-streamer / seedbox / ftp-server.

I've got the software for the HTPC all planned out but the next question is how to easily manage the server which will be in my closet. As for torrents i could just use uTorrents web-gui but that will be sort of dodgy at times.

So the only program i have a slight idea about is Symantec PC Anywhere, is it worth getting or are there better alternatives? I just want a good gui without too much fuss which works over the internet, im using a switch so i cant do it over a local network.

I recommend the built in remote desktop function in windows, it has better refresh/update rates than ultra/tiny/real-vnc. Unless you plan on using another operating system of course.
