Not sure what the big deal is with blue ray, for games I mean, the only game that can benefit from it is Lost Odyssey and possibly higher quality cut scenes for all future games.

MS has said games will never be on a HD-DVD and/or Bluray, the DVD9 format is sufficient enough. It would piss off alot off buyers if they decide to use Bluray for games.
By the time Bluray gets mainstream you'll probably be able to buy a standaloone Bluray player with alot more functions than the PS3 or this addon for a reasonable price.
