And yeah, according to the MANAGER (who is more informed about the product he sells than you and i can confirm this as my buddy called me up a short while ago and confirmed it) the 360 version is 5 hd discs where as the ps3 version is one.
Anyway, after playing for a couple of hours, I have yet to experience any bugs or glitches or slowdowns in the frame rate.
I think the pirated copy is fubar to be honest. If they do release a working 360 but a known release group, im sure it will work fine. but the current copy seems to be crap, basing that on what ive read on here
i will say this about GTA IV, the game is fuckin frustrating at some points. They should indicate whether an enemy your chasing on foot is above you, or below you. took me 3 0 minutes to figure out where this one dude was hiding because all it showed was a red dot and I went to the red dot and he wasnt there but i could hear him talking to me. I eventually figured out you hand to climb these stairs into a wharehouse. quite annoying to say the least. other than that tho, cant complain. games runs like a charm
Oh and on a side not, one of my other buddies that was in line bought the ps3 version as well and he hasnt had a problem with his either. crisp graphics and the game play is quite smooth. I think the PS3 version won this round (not to say other ps3 games wont be shit).

well, according to my friend who bought the 360 version, it is. I dunno if he's bullshitting me or not but thats what he says. He also bought the special addition so im assuming 2 of those dvd's will be nonsense. but still, 3 dvd's as compared to 1 disc.
Im glad I didnt buy the 360 version. And the free online play is a bonus. Gunna wait till i beat the single player story before i try multiplayer tho
lol the funny part is, i havent had this many phone calls in god knows how long. I met 2 old (ell not old, guys i havent seen in a few months) friends there and we exchanged numbers and stuff, every so often we call each other for hints lol
You guys should have seen the turnout tho in the stores that had the midnight sale. the place i went (eb) had atleast 300-400 ppl in line and i heard futureshop had like 1000 ppl inline.
CTV (a local news station) was there and everything.
It was funny tho. Some kid, couldnt have been more than 12 tried to buy the game and they refused to sell it to him and he threw a temper tantrum in the store and security escorted him off the premises

question.
When do you get the opportunity to explore and do side quests? so far all my missions come from Roman (or whatever the guys name is). Its getting quite boring. I know im barely into the game but still, i'd like to do some side quests while waiting for roman to call me and save his ass from getting the shit kicked outta him

Enemy icon/dot has a little arrow on it on mine pointin gup or down depending what level its on.
On another note, I just completed the HEAT style mission and it could possibly be the best mission on a GTA I have played, ONly problem was it petered out at the end after I got in the car and was too easy to lose the 5 star wanted level

Major freezing on ps3 60 and 20 gb some can't play others have to skip movies but can play, xbox360 ftw.

Some reports of Xbox 360's freezing aswell with GTA IV and not just with the special edition. So both PS3 and Xbox 360 are freezing (seems to be mostly launch PS3's that're doing it), not a one sided thing. Shame would suck to wait so long for that to happen.
Multiplayer is ever so fun though, really glad they took their time with it and it's not half assed. cops n' crooks, turf wars, and freemode is really fun.

ive played the game side by side, and without a doubt the 360 version is far superior.

Doesn't it go to 3 *s when you leave the subway ?
But I do agree , Its too easy to evade 5 / 6 stars . Just have to lose sight for a minute and watch the radar to know when to turn

HDDVD is dead you know that don't you
speaking about the freezing topic :
xbox360 has pop ups and slow loading times + game runs on 720p 2xAA
PS3 has freezes on cutscenes but it has no pop ups and slow loading times , game works on 640p no AA (the same resolution as Halo 3 http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2007/09/28/halo-3-is-only-running-at-640p)
to fix the problem on the box just clean your HDD Cache with the Maintenance command and clean your lens
for the ps3 just wait for a patch like with Bully that had the same problems on the Xbox360

i know hddvd is dead but i have no dvd player so i can use him for this maybe i ebay it again with a bit profit not sure but 200 euro for all this is still great and i cant wait till end november to play it on my maschine

is it possible to burn movies in hddvd format to watch them after in better quality than dvd on xbox360 hddvd if movie source is in hd ?
and by the way Movies on hddvd are cheap as hell because of death sometimes even cheaper than movies on dvds

The Xbox 360 itself is also capable of displaying Dvd's, you don't need an additional HD DVD player.
