Is it ok to use anti bacterial soap when cleaning a pet's food and or water dish?

Usually when I clean my cat's dishes, I just use warm water and some paper towel.
Is it ok tho to use like anti bacterial dish shop so it disinfects the dishes?

Yeh. Just give the bowl another water-only rinse down after the first anti-bac wash. Its not bad for the cat but may give him an off putting taste if you dont rinse the bowl well.

It should be okay. I would use normal washing up liquid myself.
All this antibacerial stuff is for the birds.
It's being said that all the dirty peoples kids never get sick because their kids are immune to germs having been introduced to it from an early age. That's why I let my son play out in the back garden in the mud and I don't mind when he comes in filthy. He enjoys it and I think wrapping kids in too much cotton wool makes them too soft anyway.
I'm going way off topic aren't I? Very Happy

That's because I've had a pre going out on the drink drink. Going clubbing tonight. YAY!
First time this year. I'm still going off topic aren't I?
Well who cares, The Saint can ban me later/ Wink

lol going clubbing eh? dont drink tooooo much jen Razz

I agree about the kids. Kids are sheltered more today then, well, atleast when i was young.
I see it all the time with my neighbours kids. Their mother wont let them climb this big tree they have in the front yard, wont let them ride their bikes off the street, wont let them play outside once the street lights come on...and these kids are like 12 or 13....fuck, at that age i would be out all night playing street hockey or something you know?
I fallen outta numerous tree's and hurt myself as a kid. Thats what being a child is all about, trial and error. Also teaches them not to be afraid of things, to have courage.

If I have kids, im sure as hell not going to shelter them. Im not gunna let them have free range either, there will be limits, but like fuck, if they are 12 years old and wanna ride their bikes around the block or to the corner store, who cares? as long as its not 2am or something you know?

thats what i was thinking

dont animals (including humans) need certain bacteria as it is?

Think im gunna stick to warm water and a rag.

I feed her soft and hard food. When she doesnt finish all her soft food and it hardens up, thats when i clean it out. i was just concern the food leaving behind harmful bacteria

Bacteria helps build up the immune system, which is already stronger in cats than in humans.

So no worries Wink

ok, thats good to hear. shes gettin old (she's 10 now, or 11) and I want her to live atleast another 5-8 years. She's the best pet ive had. Smile

I mean, she's kinda like a dog. I call her and she comes, she has different meows for when she wants something or is sick or in pain etc she likes watching certain shows with me (she likes Lost for some reason, everytime i put it on, she appears outta no where a jumps up on my lap and watches it with me). She understands words like food and dinner and stuff
She's a really smart cat.
