it will play on that!

it just might not be as safe in terms of xbox live, so you may more easily get banned.

it should play though Smile

you'll need some good dvd-dl's though - verbs are best.

so i can just download and burnthen play?? as i recall when i flashed mine their was something about patching the iso to get it to work.. or that might of been if you were making your own backups... cant remember

edit: also does it matter wether i get + or - dl discs??

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/125847

Even the manufacturer description and reviews say they work with 360.. dirt cheap to so i dont care if i coaster some of them.

DVD+DL is a must. You have to set the layer break to something (cant remember it, but it's in the .dvd file) and -DL discs can't do that. Other than that, just use img burn and there shouldn't be any problem

to get the right layer break just insert a DVD9 movie disk or some other dvd9 disk with data and check where is the break , then just write it in the .dvd file

Sin posted a great tutorial how to burn and flash your console so go see the stickys in the console section Wink

still, when it comes to consoles, i dont like tampering with them for some reason. And i like having the original packaging and manuals and stuff.
Just my preference

Yep.. i took it apart and tightend the screws on the heatsinks a little bit and its working again now... occasionally get the rrod but meh.

I know quite a few people who have sent flashed consoles back after they rrod and got a working one back so i shall try.
Failing that they are dirt cheap to buy theese days

Its not a matter of the cheap disks "coastering", its a matter of the 360 not reading them correctly. This WILL happen with disks other than Verbs, so you'll be wasting your money.
