I`m looking at a friends PC..

In a nutshell.. any game runs fine for about 30 seconds.. then the framerate drops to about 2.. then after a few seconds it`s back upto 45 or so...
THis is with any game... Vista or XP..
Drivers are updated and I`ve checked the most usual stuff.. done some googling etc..
I`m at a total loss Sad

I`ve also tried disabling the audio.. thinking that it was the HD audio ...

ANyone got any ideas?? Confused Confused

Sounds like some background program is doing this. Especially that it happens every time for the same amount of time and in the same moment.

Try to run some game, then press the Three Kings (ctrl+alt+del) and check the running programs and cpu/memory usage. Check which one is the highest (use sorting) in the moment of stuttering.

Maybe this will help.

also check your AV, some AV's like to scan programs while their running. Might want to check up on temps too, high temps are more torward locking up but you never knwo
