Tonight I went into a gamestop here in the states and chatted the guy up for a few trying to get some information. Of course always leaving the possibility of slipping the guy a $100 to give it to me out of the back of the store. The person working said that they didn't even have it yet, and didn't expect to get it until 24-48 before the release date/time.

Ah, it was worth a shot.

nope...it will be out on the 25th in poland and maybe in some uk stores too...
If I'd be the publisher Id make sure stores have it more than just 24-48 hours early...there may always be some problems with ups or fedex or whatever company they are using for the shipping + the shipping to europe also may take longer than expected..or are the eu copies made in the eu ?

First thing i'll do is probably steal a car, drive around a bit, drive over pedestrians to see how the cops react, do a little sightseeing and go to a bar see what minigames they have there (i remember enjoying the pool minigame in San Andreas).
The multiplayer part of gta looks like fun too, but i'm not really into multiplayer...

Just a quick question: will the whole city be unlocked from the beginning or not? Because i've heard some different answers to this question (hope it's completely unlocked Very Happy)

No the whole city won't be unlocked at the start because of the suspicion of a terrorist attack.......

Games Aktuell Review

German magazine Games Aktuell is the latest magazine to review Grand Theft Auto IV. Here is their verdict:

Graphics: 9/10
The gigantic size of the city makes you forget the few graphical imperfections of the game.

Sound: 10/10
Best GTA soundtrack ever, and probably the most compelling feature in the game.

Controls: 8/10
Far from perfect but a big step from the previous GTA games.

Multiplayer: 9/10
Great concept and innovative integration with the single-player mode.

Gameplay: 10/10
We can't score it 11/10...

Conclusion:
GTA4 is by far the best action game ever created.

(UPDATE) This review is based on earlier preview sessions at R*. It's not based on the final retail version of the game. It still contains the review screenshots however (the same ones featured in OXM/OPM).
