as mr. deelix started law breaking thread, i thought to be more primitive with the title and start this shit out..

here in Estonia the official state limiting velocity is 90km/h, in summer 100km/h and 110km/h in so called "highways" that don't deserve to be called highways:p

well, i for one overspeed about 20-30km/h not because to be cool nor am i nervous driver, it's just because i feel comfortable driving at 110-120km/h and it feels most "safe" or reasonable to me. road quality is considered:p

though estonian traffic culture is a bad one - very many people drive like maniacs and here are many accidents (even many death ones). but these people are just dumb.
i can imagine typical estonian death-racer: sitting in his bmw 320, shirt is wetting, angry face with sunglasses and one hand on the wheel Cool Smile

--

so, what about your speeds and country's laws?

yes

100 Km/H usually on the regular highways. We got one highway where we can officially drive at 110Km/h but everyone is driving on 150/160 there Razz

Speed limits could be a lot higher. But since we have a lot of dumb drivers I think these speed limits are reasonable. Not that it will be the cure for the large number of accidents we have here, a much better solution would be to prevent the dumb people from getting their license.

the speed limit on major highways is 100 km/h ... but when it's not busy like

then I usually drive ~130-140 km/h. You get your car seized and a $10,000 fine for going more than 50 km/h over the speed limit :/

another fun interchange Razz

I seriously doubt your average speed is over 60 Mph.

Average is totally the wrong metric to ask. Mostly, I don't even use the car, so averaging a year of use it's maybe 1km/h or less? When I'm driving, considering all the speedups and whatnot it's maybe 20-40 km/h? And when I lend my car to a friend who's a racer, we drove at 230km/h+ once. Smile

I usually have no rush on the highway, and drive with the flow. But my aformentioned friend always goes about 10-20 over the speed limit.

lol, I'm willing to bet anyone from the GTA drives the same speed on this highway Wink

here is an interesting story ... in the last 6 months in ontario 2500 people have been caught going 50 km/h over the speed limit and had vehicles impounded Razz
http://www.timminspress.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=947648&auth=Chelsey+Romain

but yeah, you're right that is my average speed only when driving on that highway when it's not busy. Driving around downtown in the car is more like 10 km/h

I try not to speed on city streets though, too many people around.

I drive to two destinations on a weekly basis, my work and my parents.

To work it's just through city traffic with an average of 70 km/h speedlimit, i'd guess my average speed is 90km/h there.

To my parents however i drive across a bridge called Ölandsbron, in the back of the picture here:

And anyways it's a two file highway basically with no places for the cops to monitor your speed (except if you happen to pass one who's going your direction), the speedlimit there is 90km/h but i'd say i probably average 150km/h there, quite alot more if the weather is good.

I live a little outside town, and when there are no signs and no houses the speed limit is 80km/h.. and its easy to go 120-150 some places. Because there are good sight and yards on both sides.

Never got a ticket for anything, but thats just pure luck... I take way to many chances Sad
Hope I chill down when I get older. My 2.0L Mishubishi Galant have gone 282K so I think it have loste some HP along the way Wink

I don't drive very fast at the highways because of photoboxes and not to many places with double lane. Most we got is 110km/h one place or so... Sweden FTW. Wider roads higher speedlimits Very Happy

From next year they will have 130km/h some places on E6 in Sweden. Done 195km/h in Sweden.<3 Swedish police and their low low fines Very Happy its like 10k NOK doing 140 in 100 in Norway :\

My main highway is much like nouses. It hit over 145 km/h this morning. And yesterday on a out of town highway, with little or no traffic i hit 243Km/h. I love to drive, hence why i own a 911.

Average to work would be around 130 Km/h or so. But there are long stretches that I drive 180 Km/h probably (only when its safe...of course relative). Past Frankfurt's airport is a long straight with free speed for example. And Porsche's here are like your average VW Golf, everybody has one

Used to drive like a tit when I had my Audi TT, but I was young and stupid then Wink

What I drive at the mo

2.4 l MIVEC, Petrol 170PS 4WD
Its a company car so petrol is free + service etc etc, and its brilliant when one goes to IKEA for shopping Wink

Yeah I know. Iv been to Germany, Berlin actually. Higher percentage with great cars in Germany than Norway. Its cheaper to insure and less taxes on exotic cars. Some people even move to Germany to get one. You can't be an average Joe and drive a Audi RS4, it just don't work.
