SR1 proved that it's possible, hell i remember now even Mafia had demo, gta never since it gone 3d that is, dunno if there was any demos for 1&2

Im pretty sure the first two games did, the first one definately did, it was on PSX and had a 10 minute timer I believe.

GTA 2 demo was the greatest demo ever, people said. You had the whole map but some restrictions of course.

SR1 issued a demo because nobody believed there could be an actually Decent GTA-clone. The demo did a Badass job of doing that and grabbing attention to a little known title. Rockstar has no need to release the demo. And like the others here I was to sink my teeth into the full thing, rather than be fed a morsel of the game to make my mouth water even more(if that is even possible). But yeah, no demo and I am fine with that.

so u saying after playing Mafia demo so called gta clone [probably first one] didn't want u to play full game?
i remember partially mission in demo was never in full version
why is it have to be a gta clone anyway?
it's like saying every fps is what, a doom clone? pfft nobody says that
i think many will be happy to play demo before getting full game or just pass time before full game released, i know i'd certanly would

its a shame post count doesnt have the slightest effect on ability to read, or write for that matter. oh well.
