Yeah it is the same game with a different title, probably retitled for the English market.
I like the name Geo-Political Simulator better, though.

the spanish version is great , the best game of this kind i saw.
very good ai , many details.
cant wait for the englisah version.
just played 1 hour with china , invaded 2 country burnei and mongolia ,and the party forced my demission.

Speedgear I have a question about the game. Does it start you off in wars that are currently being fought today if you choose that nation? Because I really don't want to even send virtual Americans to a Virtual Iraq.

I don't know if you can invest in alternate fuels directly, but you can replace your fossil fuel powered power plants with fusion, nuclear, wind, solar, hydro and so on, which will decrease the ammount of fossil fuels you need. You can also invest in research, but you can't know ahead of time what technology you're going to get. Research is random. You just get random discoveries every now and then depending on how much you invest. So it's possible that you can research alternate fuels.
But as for what i'm going to do when i get the game: I'll play as the smallest country possible, and build my economy, then when i'm rich enough, i'll annex one of my neighbours to quickly get my population up, then keep going like that until i'm a collossal superpower. Then i'll secretly develop biological weapons, which i will then "test" on the U.S.  Then, i'll conquer and annex those pathetic pigs. Then i'll ban all religions and force those fools to accept my very own brand of socialism.

Well in superpower 2 was a bit hard to do that with a really small country considering that almost everyone would attack you after the first or second annexation. Still a fun game.. not sure if I'm going to be able to play this one on my old gf4ti.
