Anyway, you can play it standalone (which then gives you the option to roll a lvl 45 char (predefined roles etc Hunter, Magician etcetc) or a "clean template" (you can also undo all skills on the templates, aslong as you dont level up to 46).
Or you install the maingame aswell and start from level 1. |
it's a multilanguage release?
EDIT: only eng

Wow an exp pack for a game that went unnoticed because it got released on some "profitable" time of the year at the same time that a lot of better games. Games publishers still don't understand that make them lose money... they should release continuously during all year long, not only at 3 periods of the year.

To fiddly with all windows and menus, and the fighting is to "click, click click"etc. I guess its a good RPG but I that I am not in the mood for it at the mo. If I would play a RPG I would probably play Witcher.

By the time that silverfall was out, my pc was to weak to hande it... Now... is it worth it? I mean compared to Titan quest/ Dungeon siege 2. Is it better or similar -gameplay wise ? (or it is on mediocre level like Loki & Blood magic )
edit: oh, ok thanks, i'll give it a tray then.

i finished Silverfall. It was quite ok-good. I especially liked the graphics (that shder thingy),you have to consider tho, back then i was on a gf 6600 with a athlon 2800+ ^^. There was a lot of good things, and some bads too i guess. Overall it was too easy (not the beginning where you die all the time from plants that shoot you through half the world ^^) but the last half/tier was VERY easy (i mean Enemies). But anyways. My verdict (and i didnt play the expansion for more than 10 minutes , because do not have time or motivation to play anything right now, and basing this mainly on the Original game) is : it sure is worth a good try. I highly suggest to play the original first tho, and then use that char to play the expansion. Otherwise you have a char with a crapload of ... crappy items and have a hard time killing the enemies you encounter.

I tried for like 10 minutes yesterday with an Premade Assassin Tech, went fine for that time without dying, installing Original today to make a level 1 though. Well you can craft and stuff in the expansion, I guess that's a plus. Haven't played much.

There is a strange error with the sound in the expansion for me. The sound on the left headphone speaker is much louder than the right. But only for the music. Any ideas on how to fix it? I didn't find any setting in the game.

Huh, screw this game then, items are everything in these games.

so you quit diablo 2 after a couple minutes, too ? Because you don't find any good items till later in the game (nightmare/hell). I don't remember exactly what items i had when i finished silverfall, but i'm very sure it had "unique" items.

AA doesn't seem to work when set in the configuration utility. You have to force it via driver. Odd.
Edit: There is unique items. I've found a few already in the couple days I've been playing. Dunno about set items, but definately some unique named items.

Exactly the opposite, actually. D2 kept me hooked for ages, and still does with new mods, mostly because it had a kickass itemsystem, which pretty much all the action-rpg's (and games like WoW) have copied since. But what Tydirium said was that there's NO features like true uniques or item sets. Completely randomised item systems just blow, plain and simple.
Edit: Happy to take that back if it really does have unique items, though! Hope there's a compilation of main game & exp. later, could grab that one.

And Expansion you can craft items, haven't played more than 20 mins though so dunno about that.

Crafting system seems to be decent enough. You can create most items, and some pretty good ones actually if you have the right skills and then enchant them on top of that.

Ok, so if it doesn't require the original game, AND it overwrites the original game directory during install, there should be some kind of registry hack to make the game think that silverfall (original) is installed.
I hate the idea of starting a lvl 45 char.....I want to start as lvl 1, but do not with to wait 2 days to download the original.....
Think a registry hack would work?
IF SOMEONE WOULD BE GENEROUS ENOUGH TO PM ME THEIR ORIGINAL SILVERFALL .REG FILE I WOULD APPRECIATE IT!!! I have the whole day off, and don't want to spend it getting the original game, thanks!

Well, forget the reg hack, i just finished downloading and installing the original
The original install was close to 11 gigs, and after installing the expansion, the whole game takes up close to 12 gigs now, being that the expansion simply overwrites most of the original install AND updates the game to v1.5
