I have a question I hope someone can help me with.

I set up a web site to show how a contractor fucked up on my house. Now they want me to take it down even tho I paid for the fucked up work in FULL.

How can I set up an off shore web site using an anonymously registered domain.

There's lost of hacker web sites that do it...how?

I am guessing you took the contractor to court and the court wants you to take it down.

I always thought you could use site as long as you followed their sits rules, like porn and stuff.

My friend got shafted when he bought a suv. The car was in an accident while in their car and the back door was blown off. Anyway he made a web site with pictures of the door not closing and all the bondo and dust and glass in the inside. The head office has contacted him asking him to take the site down and he refused with out a refund. When you google it his page came up first. Not sure what is happening now. I looked for the site but couldn't find it.

Contractor might send legal threats to the host/ISP/w.e . Usually, that is enough to get a site taken down.

ISP 's have more money and legal power than a contractors, you would think.

How do you know this? Has their solicitor sent you a cease and desist letter.

Are you concerned about being sued, or do you just want to prevent them from taking your domain away?

Because if the court orders it, I don't think there's anyway to keep the domain, as you will have already agreed to T&C's stating that your registrar is entitled (and bound) to obey any court order.

Give us some more info, and I might be more help. Most importantly, does their name form part of your domain name?

If you like reading about legal stuff, take a look here. And keep us updated.

Believe me, I know all about the legal firepower ISP's have arranged for themselves. I've been on the receiving end of it once Wink They will almost always (at least the American ones) pussy over to the first sign of a legal threat, especially if it comes in writing, since they consider written stuff a lot more seriously that email, for obvious reasons.
