Every Starbucks, Caribou, Barnes and Noble, etc that offers WiFi I always see fucking teenagers and college "sophisticated" wanabees toting around their MacBooks trying to look all intelligent, trendy, and cute. I love walking into these places with my little Linux tigerbox and when I see a group of assholes bringing in all their MacBooks, I start screwing around with their systems and hearing these dipshits go "what the hell?"

I don't mean to disrespect anyone here that has one. You're all cool. Smile

Like right now, three dipshits are taking fucking pictures in the table in front of me and editing it on their MacBooks. It's annoying the fuck out of me. Say bye bye to their files.

A large part of the kick of having something like that is to be seen with it. How these people get any real work done sitting in public places is a mystery. Maybe they don't get squat done and they're just getting off on creating the illusion. Very Happy

That's exactly it! My friend has a MacBook and it's this reason that pisses him off. He says that it's bullshit that people are getting these things just to look "cool" and are not even really using it. Like the new MacBook Airs *cough*slow piece-of-shit*cough*. I saw someone have one the other day and all his other friends were hovering around him. He was trying to log on to the internet and I hear someone else say. "Um, what's taking so long" Rolling Eyes

have no particiular hate against macs or ppl using it but if someone got me one as a present i'd sold it and get windows based laptop instead

Ive had mine a few weeks now and it hasn't yet left the house.

It is the shit, but I don't think id feel safe in a UK cafe on my laptop.

I honestly dont know why anyone would buy a mac. not to disrespect those that have one, but really, they suck. Nothing is compatible with them (ie games and numerous apps).
I guess they are good if you just wanna surf the net or do some word processing or emailing, but other than that, i cant imagine why anyone would buy one

I just bought a brand spanking new, top of the line PC....way better than any mac out there

I have yet to find software that I used on windows which doesnt work on Mac besides the official MSN messenger Live.. which I replaced with www.amsn-project.net since its better anyway, and includes all the live features.

Only beef I have with them atm is that I cant find a decent p2p prog for when I want to grab a single MP3.

Gone are the days when things just didnt work on Mac.. Also theres plenty of mac-oriented pirate sites on the net which I found easily.

I really would like you to name some things that Mac's "Can't" do.. Yes we know they are not the best for gaming, but the Macbook Pro with the 8600 GT is pretty sweet for running what is available.

Im no means an apple/Mac fanboy, just curious as to why people don't like them so much.

Macs remind me of the ones I used back in school and shit. before Windows 95 and stuff. I just dont like them.
I'd go Linux but thats even less compatible with stuff than a mac is

Hell man! You should see one of the top of the range Macbooks!

Like I said, gone are the shitty days of mac. If you really want you can even use Bootcamp software and dual boot Vista on them, and let me tell you, even that works great.

Its a long time since Applemac school comp days Razz

Watergem, what was more silly in your decision to buy it was the fact that you didn't just get a normal laptop (much much cheaper) and just install the hacked OSX that works great (better than on MacBook hardware). Laughing That's the hate.

I got it for free in the sense I swapped my 8800 and dual core processor from my 'gaming pc' for it.

It has the latest version of Leopard on it and all the software I could want/need..

I wanted a laptop for a long time, but the beauty of the mac is that its ready pretty much straight out of the box. no patches or drivers to install, everything just works straight away (or at least it has for me so far).

mac are not for gamers. PERIOD.

More for grafx programs like maya (I think)

Alot of mac users also have PC too

the exact reason I got it is because it does exactly what I want it to do, its fast mobile and smart + I dont game anymore really.

Dont mind the odd 30 mins bash on a classic game, but I just gave up on the whole "next gen" gaming since it is craptastic, either ported console rubbish or.. just plain rubbish..
