iHacker is a hacking simulation with role-playing elements. The storyline is set in a world that has become dependent on computers, digital technology and specifically - the internet. Every transaction, item purcahsed, military system, school network and local business mainframe require the internet.
* You play as a hacker who works for VivalCorp, the biggest underground freelance agency in the world, employing millions of agents to work for the many clients that are affiliated with VivalCorp. VivalCorp's clients may require you to do things like breaking into a competitor's system and stealing vital files, or decyphering massive data problems and breaking encryption algorithms using your powerful software and hardware.
* Build up your character as you collect experience from missions and tasks. The more experience you have, the more talent points you receive, allowing you to specialise in certain areas.
* Cheat the system as you make news headlines from infecting a server with a malicious virus. Steal the password and credit card details of a server admin by sending them an e-mail containing a key logger. If that's not enough, you can get all the latest hacking software for free, off the global warez network.
* Play with your friends using iHacker's unique multiplayer system. The multiplayer system will allow you to chat, trade and even give you the opportunity to show off your gateway's benchmarking performance to world.
* Build the ultimate computer with over 1,000 unique hardware parts and items that you can collect, purchase and trade. These parts not only help you complete missions faster, but they also come in handy for the mini-games and benchmarking gameplay too.
* Overclock your hardware way over the limits with the extreme cooling range, from vapour-cooling to nitrogen-cooling so that your computer is the best in the game. Imagine a nice quad-core 2.0 GHz computer overclocked to 6.0 GHz on some of the most advanced technology known to mankind.
nice.
yeah you're right there are quite a few sounds from uplink in that gameplay video.
I don't mind that though. the closer they stick to uplink the more fun it will probably be
uplink was totally unrealistic but I had lots of fun with that game.
btw, funny how they say on their site:
Quote:
ADM Studios is dedicated to giving the consumer exactly what the consumer needs, rather than a something that just looks good. We strive to make innovative software...
they sound like they're trying to become an Introversion clone.
the "we strive to make innovative software" part is kinda funny, considering their very first game is a total clone of Uplink. what's innovative about that?
nice.

iHacker is definitely not an Uplink clone, iHacker offers alot more and the gameplay is also different (iHacker will have online features whilst Uplink was completely offline).
iHacker is very innovative, it was based on Nanobyte Online (try the alpha download of it and then see for yourself).
nice.

So is this a student project? Kent university and all..
But your a student? If so then impressive stuff, needs a lot of work (based on video/screenshots, which may or may not do it justice) to get it to a saleable quality (you may also want to consider a name change or fear the wrath of apple) but it should get you a decent career in games..
Still, can't stand these kinds of games, always too unrealistic, I'd rather do the real thing thanks .

Yep I'm a student. The video is bad quality, the game is already of quality just doesn't have the content. Also I've applied for a trademark on 'iHacker', so I should be fine.
Yeah, you either hate them or love them. Thanks for feedback though.
i will pirate the shit out of this, IF it actually gets released.
Doubtful, it uses an account system like WoW.
Any chances of a preview build? World of Goo gave out a beta to people that preordered it. Which is a great game btw. Would love to see something like that.

Well, if it's not online multiplayer I don't see how you can prevent piracy... What language did you use to make the game?
Then why aren't games like LFS cracked? I admit it has multiplayer, but to play the full single player you need to login to an account. Only like a few year old releases have been cracked...

LFS is still cracked (Even latest builds), but you don't know where to find them.
"Overclock"? What the hell does that have to do with anything? Guess it's Hacking hollywood-stylee (in other words, it'll probably contain a sexy woman voice saying stuff like "hacking system sublevel gateway" and other shit that doesnt make any sense.) Seems lame.

You can overclock your CPU/RAM/VPU clocks. Also the game will be free, but have a one of payment for a premium account (to help pay for the server).
