|
 |
I hadn't seen a dentist for like 4 years and when i finally decided to visit one i was shocked.
7 teeth had tooth decay. Actually can't be suprised there, because i didnt use to brush them that regulary. I've been to the dentist twice now and 4 of my teeth are fixed. I should have had an appointment yesterday but i slept in. Now I have to wait till april. The biggest problem is that when I was at the dentist last time I think they drilled a tooth next to the one they were supposed to fix. At first I didn't feel a thing. But after a day or two it started aching. Drinking and eating cold/hot stuff is such a pain in the ass right now . Well I really hope the tooth that they falsely drilled was going to be fixed too.It can't be a coincidence that it started to ache just now and not like 2 years ago.

I just had a root canal + crown. I feel your pain. Although, i take pretty good care of my teeth. It's just they were overcrowded and it got decay in between where i couldn't clean. The floss would just split when i tried to get in there.

I tell ya all a horror story about dentist's...or rather bad bad teeth.
It all started before Xmas year before last (2006)
I suddenly had this tingling feeling when eating...like biting in to alu foil. It grew to a throbbing pain around the 20th-21st dec.
The pain was unbearable on the morning of the 21st so I called my dentist and explained the symptoms. They said I should drive over and have it checked out, now that dentist is close to work, 45Km away. But I was so lagered up on pain killers I realized its not a good thing to sit in a car and basically "fly" there. So I asked my wife if her dentist was any good, and of course she said "yea, brilliant, its just around the corner from where we live".
Said and done, I got an appointment and walked over there (1 min walk). The clinic seemed ok and the guy proper and all that. Now he found that I needed a (possible root canal in my upper (whatever they are called) 2+ or what ever...ok he drilled out an old filling and did hes stuff, put some goo to kill the bacteria etc etc. He said the infection caused the pain and that the pain would go away when he opened the old filling...was it better now. I tried to feel any difference through my pain killer crazed brain and said "I think so". He said, there you go. Come back in the morning and we do the rest of the procedure...
That night ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE! The PAIN! the surging of nerve wrecking INSANITY! I went back to the clinic like 7:30 in the morning or something (1st nurse just arrived) And she said "Oh dear, you did not sleep much now did you" me..." FOFF" SOMET IS WRONG!!!!!"
Any ho...the man comes in and checks out the area that is hurting LIKE FRACK!...and goes..."Hm, it seems like this tooth is CRACKED! and is severely infected (now this is not the tooth I had root canaled the day before but another one in the lower jaw...WELP!.
He goes...there is nothing for it, it has to come out!!!!!!. MAN!!!! NO!!!!! its Xmas and my Bday is on the 23rd... he goes...."You might be boss in your company, but here...I am the BOSS!.
Well the rest is history and I had a pretty uncomfortable Xmas 2006-2007...but the tooth came out and that finally stopped the pain...Today I am happy I went to the Dentist, but back then I thought..."This is not happening man!"

i say that with all the technology surrounding us nowadays someone should really invent something in this bussiness. Everytime i go to the dentist i feel like i'm going back to the medieval ages. All the pain, drilling ( the smell of your teeth being drilled...) is just too much

tell you what, an apple a day keeps the dentist away. They clean your teeth up a treat, and they keep em in good shape too. Chew gum also.. I heard that helps with teeth, lol.

Looked some more into these new methods of dealing with the bacteria, and WTF is taking so long? Some of these articles are from 1986, and articles of working applications are from 1998 and 2000 at least. http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Wash+that+mouth+out+with+bacteria!-a061793406 (check the 'Related Articles' lower-right for more).
Thought I was joking with the conspiracy but I bet the Food and Drug Administration is bought out by those evil dentists worldwide. They thrive on causing pain!
