yup
as a terminator related show it's fucking retarded
but if you regard it as a completely seperate entity, it's kind of ok
promising even
only if you make the mistake of remembering the movies in connection to it, it'll make you cry

It says "two-hour 1st season finale (due to the wga strike)" on www.thefutoncritic.com

Another thing. Maybe my memory of the original Terminator movie is a little fuzzy, but didn't Kyle reese tell Sarah that he was born after the blast? Am i wrong or is this another writers fuckup?

I don't think it was said in the first movie (i think ill watch it again to see the bluray version)
[b]BUT...
Anyone remember Kyle Resse from Terminator : Future Shock game? He was just a kid then, therefore it means he was born rather after the war began (after the nuclear blasts).

BTW. Terminator : Future Shock and Skynet (addon) were fucking great games!

Youre absolutely right, i watched T1 yesterday afternoon and he said that. Also, the pic of sarah connor that he had was completely burned in a Terminator attack before he was send back in time so it wasnt suppose to be in his bunk box when they sent him in time.

If i remember correctly, he said Judgement Day was 40 years before he got sent so he was born atleast 10 years after J-Day

To be honest guys I couldnt give a fuck wether this show is 100% accurate to the Terminator films even though I am also a massive fan of them, aslong as it blends in ok which I think it does thats fine by me, I just like the show on its own merrit and am really hoping they get a season 2 out, although if they do and they change who plays Cameron which they could easily do I wont be watching it, Summer Glau is seriously fit and aside from that she is quite good as a Terminator.

Just been reading an interview with one of the shows writers, in it he says that "4 seasons are planned" And that despite rumour the show is relatively low cost compared to many other shows currently airing.

Also as much as the scene with the FBI agents meeting the swimming pool was cool they should have used Nancy Sinatra's Bang Bang' for that scene imo instead of Jonny Cash's tune.

you shouldn't really even try fit tscc into the terminator timeline
the writers obviously don't give a shit
though, the original judgement day happened on August 4, 1997, which would make kyle ten years tops at present day events in the new timeline

FYI comparing the lines to T1 & the show are irrelevant. Think about it they jumped in time & even in the movies the events they did altered the day the world would end so technicaly Reese could of been born before the blasts due to the past events caused by sarah & her son in T2 as well as in the show when they jumped to 2007. I forget were I read this but basicaly they can alter when doomsay would happen but could not stop it just delay the inevitable.

well so they lost a viewer...
Cant understand these series nowadays, they air for couple of episodes and then go to a half year vacation..
it happened with several tv-shows which after that, I stopped watching since I already lost all the passion etc... a good example is 24,and its only one of many..

FreeDriver you can blame the strike for that problem & the greedy corporations for not wanting to pay there writers. But that's been resolved so shit shouldn't be as hecktic.

figured I'd just post this here

'Terminator' guns for kid-friendly rating
Halcyon aims to deliver PG-13 movie

By ANNE THOMPSON

The "Terminator" will indeed be back -- but this time with a more kid-friendly rating.

As production starts today on "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins," the next installment in the action franchise, producers at the Halcyon Co. say they aim to deliver a PG-13 movie to Warner Bros. for release on May 22, 2009.

The "Terminator" series is one of the highest-grossing R-rated franchises of all time, with the first three films having grossed more than $1.03 billion worldwide. But Halcyon producers thought it was time to broaden the upcoming fourth film's audience base, and they believe the PG-13 won't compromise the series' gritty vision.

"The ratings have changed," said Halcyon co-founder and co-CEO Victor Kubicek, a broker-turned-writer-producer. "The PG-13 has increased in intensity."

Move follows last year's "Die Hard" film, "Live Free or Die Hard," which went out with a PG-13 after three prior R-rated installments. That pic went on to gross $382.1 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing in the series.

A family-friendly rating opens many doors, including a "Terminator Salvation" licensing deal for action figures with Playmates Toys.

"Our merchandising program will be the largest to date for 'The Terminator,' " said Halcyon co-founder and co-CEO Derek Anderson, ex-owner of ad agency In the Mix, who adds that he had not discussed the possibility of an R-rating with Warners. "We won't force it. We are carrying on in the tradition of the mythology, with an exciting approach to the action. If we can make a compelling film to reach the widest audience, why wouldn't we do it?"

Halcyon has already launched Halcyon Games to create a "Terminator" game for release at the same time as the movie. "The first three games were all bad," Anderson said. "The core fans are screaming for something fresh; they won't be just playing the movie."

Anderson and Kubicek founded the Halcyon Co. in 2006 with funding from Wall Street hedge funds and private investors. They scooped up rights to the "Terminator" franchise from Carolco's Andy Vajna and Mario Kassar for an undisclosed sum as that company was closing down in May 2007.

Warners acquired rights to domestic theatrical and TV distribution on "Terminator: Salvation," while Sony obtained international distrib rights, less some territories. Halcyon brought in Moritz Borman to exec produce, Jeffrey Silver to produce and hired "Terminator 3" scripters John D. Brancato and Michael Ferris to script. Paul Haggis did a polish. McG directs.

Set in post-apocalyptic 2029, an adult John Connor, played by Christian Bale, leads the war to save humanity from the killing machines.

Signing Bale, who also stars in the current "Batman" series, was a huge coup. Sam Worthington, who fronts franchise creator James Cameron's upcoming "Avatar," also stars. The Terminator role is still under wraps; speculation centers on Josh Brolin.

fucking idiots. how the fuck do you make a fucking terminator movie without the violence and blood?

Retards....all i have to say...what happened to movies for adults? Like fuck, there are very few videogames for adults, and now what, they are gunna scrap the good r rated movies? bullshit.

I dont want to see some terminator saying "Im gunna freakin kill you". I wanna hear "your dead motherfucker".

More realistic. No one talks the way they do in kid oriented movies...
