The game is DVD5, the textures are not missing on Paranoid release, i believe the way they organized their files is not the most efficient way on the DVD. The backup version from Paranoid, loads extremely slow and so do the textures. I have good 4X DVD-R's i burnt 4 copies of the game, 4x, and 2x. They all take forever to load, almost as if the PS2 is having trouble reading the damn DVD. Mortal Kombat: Deception, runs like a charm, and so does Driv3R, on these same DVD-R's.

Anyways, that's what my hypothesis is...

nah i really meant it, now i m at 106 missions, not attempts.
the woozie swimming mission was pretty easy, just swim underwater all the time, when you go out of air, get back up and wait for it to refill, but dont swim on the upper level, only underwater!
BTW: JcFlyer: use dvd decrypter to burn the game on 2x speed, it works perfectly for me, no missing textures ever i swear and i ve already seen the whole map more or less. i cant explain why but dvd decrypter burned all the games perfectly that lagged when burning with other apps, atleast in my case and in some other people's.
BTW2: MGS3 may be a game bigger than 4,38 GB but that doesnt mean its gonna be on dvd9, as already said most companies dont use dvd9s anymore cuz they dont run on many ps2s, now would you sell something you knew it doesnt work for lots of customers? no, that only brings problems like ppl wanting to give the game back.
also i dont think mgs3 will be that big, sure there are alot more textures but kojima said the game wont be loaded with cutscenes as heavily as mgs2 so i think its gonna fit on a dvd5.

They have not organized any files. It's just the same as the original.
The media is extremely important for a game like this that constantly reads the disc. Even my ritek discs which are -r have trouble at times (they work perfectly for all my other games) but my verbatim dvd+rw have no issues at all, its just as if you have the original. So really, whats important for this game is the media. Even if other games work with the media you use, the same media can screw this game up badly because of the reason i wrote. Your best bet is to get some really expensive disc like a verbatim dvd+rw for this game and you wont have any problems whatsoever.

i just finished the game at ca. 67% with #104 being my last mission at 47 hours playtime (wrote 106 up there, a typo) , i still didnt manage the zero mission, its even harder than the last one. well its alteast the end of the storyline, maybe new woozie casino missions are gonna get unlocked.

well san andreas surely deserves an extremely high score, but ign's scores arent worth much, hell they gave conker's bad fur day for n64 a
9.9 too, theyre simply stuck in the producers' asses, if they gave bad reviews they wouldnt get any exclusives anymore.

there are missions like that in here too, there is a dock with a crane and a car list, you have to steal the cars on the list, then lift them with the crane and put them onto the export ship.
you get 30000+ cash here for selling stretch or buffalo, i didnt steal any other ones yet.

i was checking the achievements stats, and the last thing on the list is 'snapshots taken 0/50 oysters collected 0/50 and horseshoes collected 0/50

those are the stuff you can collect around the world.
like you had the hidden packages in vice city.
i havent even seen a horseshoe yet, but i've collected 1 oyster by accident, it was in some little river..
since oysters "live" underwater i'm assuming you'll only be able to find those in underwater spots, not sure tho.

and i didn't even know about the snapshots.. maybe you need to take specific foto's with your camera of certain places?

the oysters are in lakes, private pools, and even in the sea, which means you ll have to swim across all of it,
horseshoes are found in the desert of las venturas, there is one in a small village there and another one on top of the pyramid in the main city of las venturas.
snap shots are pictures of certain buildings and stuff as i heard but couldnt confirm yet, you should get a name for the picture if its a snapshot.

the docks for exporting cars can be found in the lower part of san fierro, you have to finish a mission there first to unlock this function.

Yeah once you buy the Wang Car Showroom, it unlocks missions at your San Fierro garage where you need to hunt down some cars and bring them back to the garage. Once you've done all of the missions, I think there was 4, it unlocks the import/export crane on the docks, along with a nice whiteboard for your list of cars that need to be exported Very Happy

its best starting out by getting a stretch in san fierro, you get more than 30k for it, the most other cars on the list can only be stolen in las venturas but because it takes a long time to drive all the way back to san fierro, better wait till you get the skycrane helicopter or the cargo plane, you cna transport em fastre that way.

How the hell is it possible to do the "Supply Lines" mission... My Red Baron goes out off fuel some blocks before Zero's home...

Some usefull cheats ?

Or hints for the Fuel-fuckout ?


I tried it so many time...the last mission i can do now... :/

Has anyone completed this yet? Just spoken to a mate who works for a number of magazines and they say this isn't the complete game....it's an American test version - unfortunately I've got a Xbox so haven't been following the progress of the game! Just noticed is hasn't been nuked if it isn't complete.....

Many people have completed this version yes and i personally know many that have completed it.
If it was actually some beta or trial version it would have been nuked a LONG time ago. The scene is not stupid and would not let a beta/trial pass through as a final.

this game was released about one week prior to the actual release, its not like R* sends the game to the 'burning department' the day before its released, there might be some differences between the pirate version and the store version, but most likley its not. missing textures and long loadingtimes is most likley bad media or a shitty PS2 Very Happy
but i cant explain why there might be a different size on the final vs. piracy game, might be a dummy file or something that they removed

yeah, if anything, it was probably a dummy file.
the missing textures = bad media, i don't have any problems like that on my ps2.
and about some textures not loading fast enough sometimes (like it loads a 'cheap' texture before the real thing) , it's the game/ps2 itself.
if you read the gamespot & ign review completely you would have noticed the reviewer also mentioned this, and i doubt he's using a burned copy, lol.

what i see is that the savegame from the pirate version doesn't work with the original version, so i got to start all over again :-s

nnndoh: the reason why the savegame doesnt work isnt because its a copy, its cuz the one you bought is a euro pal version while the leaked release is the us ntsc version.
