Hmm.. there isn't really a good reason for it not to be region free, as it's published by rockstar games both in europe and US.

But the latest xbox360 rockstar game, bully scholarship edition, is not region free eventhough it's also published by rockstar in both europe and the us.

so I'm expecting gta to be region locked as well :-(

Definitely, it'll be sick. I hate it, cause I always get into the hype as well. :/ I'm a sucker for hype, but I only ever get into it at the very last few days. But this game, I'm starting to get sucked in even now.

The Grand Theft Auto games have always been favorites of mine, ever since they made GTA in 3D I've been a total sucker for 'em. Of course I do own both gta 1, london and gta 2 for psx as well. But I still loved GTA3 more than ever. And although I loved GTA Vice City and San Andreas, they still didn't give me that same feeling that GTA3 did. I don't know, there was something special about it, about the scenery and the different islands. Vice City was pretty good, San Andreas however felt bleak when in comparison, even though it had airplanes and what not. Still, it was really good.

When I see the trailers/videos and screens from this game, I'm reminded of GTA3. Of course, I haven't played it, but still, I definitely think this one will be better than Vice City and San Andreas.

Obviously, it also looks better, which is nice, but not really needed for me. What I love about this series is that it doesn't need anything more than some sense of progression, vechicles, pedestrians, a large area to drive around in and well, some freedom. If I expect that, I know I'm not going to be disappointed.

If the game has a very fun and enjoyable story, with great characters and a real step up in terms of graphics, that is only a bonus for me.

Sorry for all the blablabla, I just got home from a 12 hour shift so I'm a bit tired and I like to write some stuff when I get home. Razz

yeh totally man, we should like get together and spoon whilst speaking hype to each other mmmm. totaly excitement frenzy!

Really liked it tbh......

I can see how it could leave you with that impression, because they spread it out over such a large area, and also the urban areas kind of got smaller the further into the game you went but still.....

Really liked all the exercise, and eating and all the other stuff to do.....

That's what's more interesting for me, probably more than the graphics, how much more sophisticated the game world is.....

I was just going to have a small spin on GTA San Andreas the other week, to calm my GTA needs...
I've now played about 20 hours and I'm still loving it. I wasn't even that keen on it when it first came out, but the fact is that the gameplay (even though it's flawed in so many ways) is better than anything we've seen since.
I think those that didn't like it back when it came should give it another try. Once you get through the shock of how bad it looks, you'll be hooked.

I replayed SA too a few months ago, and it's indeed awesome.. But too bad the first half of the game is super-awesome, and the rest is just 'good'. I mean, robbing a train with a jetpack? We you reach Las Venturas, the game really dropped in terms of mission-quality, IMO.

I'm not sure of the proper page order yet they are still being added. I am mirroring the images on imageshack so hopefully the bandwidth doesn't get used instantly.

All images rehosted from here.

 Spoiler:

I think the order is fixed now. I dunno.

Awesome read ! Thanks Tihkal!

So did Sam finally let the cat out of the bag? He talks of online multiplayer at the end... was that speculation on the future of the GTA franchise? or is there an online free-roam mode? GAHHHHH!!!!

Im officially hyped about this game.

He's talking about this game. There will be online free-roaming, but that's all we know.
I'd love some co-op specific missions, outside of the main story. Don't think it'll happen, but it would be nice. Could possibly be in for the DLC? Would probably please MS and Xbox-owners.

Why are there no real ingame screenshots yet? It's so annoying all these so called "screenshots" that aren't real fucking screenshots. www.gta4.net constantly mentions "screenshots" when they're not. RARGH.

Just read the scans as well, and well... now I'm more hyped than I've ever been before. I know a lot of the stuff said in the scans are hype-crap, but still, I love how they say it feels more like the old gta games, something I've felt lacked in Vice City and SA, they were great, just, missing something. GTA 3 felt great and I always preferred it in comparison to sa and vice city, however, sa and vice city did introduce some things I missed in gta 3, motorbikes as an example.

Either way, GTA IV sounds pretty damn awesome and will most likely pwn. There's one thing I wonder, it said something about the procedural animation working when you go up and down steps/stairs... I hope the character really sprints up/down the stairs instead of just jogging up, when I want him to sprint.

Well it said in one of the previews that its not the case, so maybe you should accept hes a lazy motherfucker and doesn't sprint in stairs. Even when he got people shooting at him! Laughing

I hope they fix it. AND THE FUCKING PEDESTRIANS! Immersion please!

Squirrely: Now come on y'all. We can't waste time arguing. There could still be survivors out there. We need to hunt them down, and kill them.
Beary: How about we kill them, and then rape their bodies so we can use their blood as lubricant.
