Girls play girly games like DDR and RPGs. I never heard of any girls into stuff like COD.
And I agree deelix the internet is a good escape from reality. The thing that really made a difference in my life though is my xbox getting fixed. Gave me a sense of accomplishment and hope for fixing stupid problems. And it also keeps me busy.
It is finals week in my school and I just have to go back there 2 more days including today to take final exams. But I made 1 friend as mentioned earlier from my theater class this semester because we were put into a group to do a group project. But he turned out to be gay. Not that theres anything wrong with that but Id like to have a friend I have a bit more in common with. He doesnt even play any games whatsoever or listen to music...

Uhmmm things could be better too nakitu but let me correct my phrase in "with a girl that share A BIT of your main hobby" ... actually i have a wife that shares that "A BIT" of my pc passion, and it's enough for having some fun together with some casual fps or action rpg (we played titan quest together and it was quite fun, even if i had to make all the skill development and the like ) and at the same time i eat very well and my house is rather well kept (of course i have to help her A BIT).
Sometimes i wondered how good it could have been to have a girl with EXACTLY my crazy passion for pc and games but you made me think about it and ... probably you are right it could be a disaster
In the end anyway i still think and believe that a gf at least a bit interested in pc & games is a good partner for any mad pc addicted dude |
Damn, where do you meet these women? I have yet to met a woman that plays videogames....sucks... |
I've met many video game playing women, they just always want to play something mario ( I am not a big gamer, but someone who played some games would be cool from time to time. |
Im not a big gamer either, but I do like to play videogames from time to time when good ones come out. It'd be nice to have someone to play with you know?

@ syco / martian : ahah in reality i don't have met that very high number of them, at least in "real life", uhm let me count them ... well they have been 4 maybe 5 (for one i am unsure) in all of my life, i mean women that can be defined to be interested in videogames.
Anyway only one of them was *truly* crazy like me with computer rpg and the like, but unfortunately i didn't interested her
As i said however i was fortunate enough to marry a woman that sometimes and in some limits, can share a nice play with some games with me !
Mainly fps like Serious Sam but even some action rpg like Diablo 2 or Titan Quest (even if i have to make all the thinking and character development for her), but it's quite a big plus inside a relationship for me.
Surely it could be unnecessary for some and it's not something that ensures the relationship itself, but for me it's very very nice.

one of the reasons my ex and I just split up was that I shared no interests with her apart from a few music tastes.. I am a hardcore PC/gamer type so I guess my next GF will need to like it too, not just accept it. Cos when she accepted it, that was ok for a while but not for long.

Maybe not 100%, but like i would take someone into books lets say. I like to read and it would be good for conversations and such

I think what makes it so hard for me, is that my ex and I share a lot in common, most things in fact. *sighs*

prolly the best thing is sharing some of the interests, but not being an exact copy of the partner ... sometimes being a bit different can help one to appreciate other things that the partner likes ...
and, even if the child inside of me won't ever agree with this, there are very important things in a couple other then sharing some interests in the free time.
i agree in the end with what you say watergem, while sometimes i dream to have a more "the-stuff-i-like-addicted-wife", two copies of myself with opposite sex probably will kill each other in some weeks

the best way to do it is.. Think about dating yourself. If you where dating yourself, what habbits do you have that you think would annoy you. Your characteristics, your hobbies interests and daily routine. Would it be good to date you?

Is that the one you were talking about before?
@syco
I know what you mean about the games. I would go though huge phases with my ex. Esp over Christmas cuz he had it off. I was the one that left the house for the junk food runs, and beer. In some ways it is less work because all you do is sit on the couch and you don't really mess anything up. You have less to fight about becuse you are not out spending money, dragging each other to places the other doesn't want to go.

@pistol,
The one I was talking about? Ya, personality wise we were very similar, that sorta thing.
I miss not having someone who'd do beer runs etc... I would actually do them a fair amount too, but sometimes it was cool to have someone else do it.

Ya, those cool lazy days where you get roll outta bed together and don't have to do anything. Sometimes my sister would come over too. Running out for take out food. I just got a total craving for Boston Pizza pissa bread and alfardo sauce and Greek Salad. Now I am hungry

Definitely not watergem. In my case at least in the end it's better to have someone at my side that shares a bit, but not totally, my characteristics, habits & passions.
And you ? Would you date yourself ?

Im more the kinda guy that would go with my girl to the store. Do things together you know? Even minor things like that. I dont mind going out for 15 minutes to get some munchies and stuff. I do it all the time still. I hit the store for some kinda munchy once a day lol

dude you are 21 live! - whenever i move to a new area or like when i moved to my campus or when i started my year at uni, i buy 1 bottle of vodka two mixers call one friend round outside the main area where everyone hangs out.
Then proceed to spend the entire day getting shitfaced, you meet so many new people there as girls and guys think you are a really cool fun guy. plus you talk more because less inhibitions.

talk to a youger chick, impress her. She will go 'blablablabl' to her friends, and you will have more friends in no time...
I never had a problem finding friends, but this year is insane. Im graduating my master this year and i met some hot hot hot 18yr old 1st year girls this year. You talk to them for like 10 mins and they think you are cool because you start working next year etc. Explain me why that is cool, but they think it is cool
I talked to them 10 mins, gave my number, you know the drill:p
And 2 days later she stared calling me, "I want to go dancing with you", so we went out. Me, she and couple of her hot hot hot friends. And they were dancing with me like those negro RnB music clips. I had a boner for 5h i think
Couple of weeks later, we started to know eachother etc. And she wants to come over to sleep here with her girlfriends etc. She wants to come over to play on the Wii, she wants to do drinking games here etc. Really cool group of girls. And they pay all their drinks themselves, they dont want anyone to pay for them. Isn't that amazing
And in reality, i am not that super cool But I have a Wii, and i can drink a lot and i am 23.
So if i can do that, you can do that.

I getting sick of this. This school year will be over about 3 months and I still have no friends. And that 1 dude that was in my class last semester, well I haven't seen him since last year. If I had the opportunity to talk then I might. But I cannot just randomly go up to somebody and start talking. Thats just something Il never be able to do.
Im gonna try to talk to this 1 girl who sits next to me in one of my classes tommorow. I feel the need to communicate with somebody (in real life). Just anybody lol

dude what the hell! Just make some random crap excuse to talk to someone, when someone is sitting by themselves just walk up and ask for the time, etc, drop a joke, compliment on something theyre are wearing. Not all of them will be nice but eventually someone will chat back.
