Oh noes they'll have my IP, then oh noes my ISP will have yet ANOTHER e-mail stating some law that is irrelevant in my country.
Think of the spambots!
Heck i doubt they'll even bother.

You can bypass that by deleting the launcher.exe (it's not the exact name, but similar, has a violet image), in the main folder and link the shortcut on the desktop directly to the exe you're using, e.g. the assasinscreeddx9.exe.
But another question: What do you think how dangerous it is that they can check the ips? Are they able to use that information considering german and american law?
I read recently that in case they report an offence against you they can actually claim the required information from the isp, regarding the german law. That would mean that it's actually possible that they start an immense attack on at least the german guys who played this version.

I don't know german law, but most places you'll need a court order to get any information disclosed from an ISP.
Some companies spend resources on going through stuff like that and sending generic DMCA notices to the ip's registered isp abuse contact, the ISP will then either ignore it or forward it for your own ignoring pleasure.

Is there any reason not to run the EXE files directly instead of the two launcher programs?
I guess people use the default shortcut that links to the first launcher which checks for updates before launching the second launcher which in turn check compatability and then launch either the DX9 exe or the DX10 exe.
I always launch the games directly without shortcuts unless I need to create one to use launch parameters like -nointro and similar.
EDIT: Just to clarify I don't think the shortcut matters anyway albeit it might be a bit quicker to launch the game directly instead of using the launchers though all they do is check for any updates and then launch the proper version.

Play.com have put this as being released on the 11th April now. Has the release date for the UK changed?

Well the lead guy from Ubi put out a statement a few days ago, remember? He said it was coming "Mid April" so perhaps the 11th IS mid-April?
