i dont know how the nuking works on this site. is it that one person can report it as nuked and its nuked or that the admin finds out himself. i know this is nuked on another nfo site. i dont have the game and most likely wont. i do know however that people are compulsive liars. they claim to get the release as early as it is posted and post remarks with high hopes of it being true to its info but later on get proven wrong. these are what we call posers.

The game is out, I bet stores have it, it's been gold for a long time, im surprised a english version hasn't been released myself.

Microsoft isn't that stupid. If stores have it weeks before the release it would get leaked somewhere.
There would always be someone around working in a shop who would smuggle out something like that.
Doom 3 produced a huge chaos because shops had it 2 days before release and everyone freaked out, so you can be sure that shops won't have Halo 2 for some time.

halo 2 probably wont arrive at stores until the morning before its release. the way i understand it is stores always get the game a day or two, (depending on its anticipation level) before it comes out. the stores that get it a day or two early usually start calling preorder customers after invetory check to let them know there copy will be there for them release day. i think besides the n64 cartridge crisis, games are usually available the morning the release date is set for. mk deception kollectors edition was a day late but the original game was available.

Dunno where you lot are saying it's French - the XBSRV version is definately Full English - had two people test it and its fine.

well it seems that Halo 2 has some Secure media check of some sort. i have had 4 buddies test it on pal xboxs and it is in fact in English, it seems that either if you downloaded the french release or have a ntsc xbox it auto puts it self in french.. so this release isnt a nuke but more of a issue maybe new security?

If you had your Xbox set to german when you first got Halo 1 installed on your xbox and then switched to the UK english version of it and used a german halo 1 savegame then it would always be german still.
Only after deleting all signs of the german Halo it would really be in english.
But would that really be possible with Halo 2? I mean.... it's same size as the French version, so how could it possibly include french AND english audio then.
capture a video of it with english audio and I'll believe you.

perhaps they got it before it was nuked all over the place.
as soon as something gets nuked it's spreading is stopped so it's nowhere to be found now.
Except perhaps Kazaa or bittorrent but I'm not going that far. lol

its been a whole day its been released and the only thing we have to show for it is a bunch of he said she said. does anybody have first hand experience. i for one still think its only french but wouldnt mind being proved wrong. confirm anyone and if its english un-nuke it

Guys.. take a look in the .map files of either release with a hex editor. Search for the ascii value "french" ( without the quotes) and above it will have offset values for english, jap, and german, take the english values and replace the french ones with it. I think this should give you guys english audio. I dont have any time to test it right now but it seems like it is the key to getting english audio from even the first release.

Sounds like a buncha bull to me, I mean seriously, this never happened with ANY other pal game on NTSC, and they are identical sizes, both halo releases... Anyone who thinks this crap is true is gullable as hell.

Did anyone on this forum actually try the release?
I'm actually starting to think that it may be the same thing as Halo 1. It's possible that it could be in french if you still have your old save file from the diffusion release on your xbox. I've sort of seen this happen with a different game aswell. In midtown madness, if you start a game with your xbox on german setting and then change it back, some of the ingame text stays in German even though the rest of the game is in english, so it's quite possible that the same thing has happened here.
Maybe not though, who knows.

im just like guerilla-warfare. if its nuked everyone loses interest so its not put up on the usual spots. a confirmation from a first hand player would help. if its all french thats cool with me, i just hate all the bickering back and forth from people that havent tried it but swear on its ability. besides if its both french and english, y cant we remove the french audio, copy the english audio and rename it what the frenc was. problem solved. xbox if it read it as german will still read english
