k u are an idiot
gtfo pliz
i like it in single mainly coz in split screen i can't see shit [32"] and u have to coordinate your movements all the time with your partner which is slow, i'd rather play alone and give fast orders

It is fun in coop and def wayyyyy better than kane and lynch. But if you are alone, skip this one. |
No don't skip it, it is way better than a lot of games of late and one that should not be missed. I think the ai is great

What about sounds?
Does the weapons sound like they pack a punch (CoD 4)?

Sounds are pretty good on my system, very beefy unlike the Halo3 POS. They have stolen the GOW gong sound

I played this with my brother 2 hours and we had allot fun. One tip for others that play it coop, don't walk near each other lol. Because when you hit some C4/mine on the wall you both die and need to respawn from the last checkpoint. But I have something that I miss in this game. And that is the shooting in the game. It's all fun when you are behind something and have time to shoot. But when you run or walk and want to shoot like in cod4 you will swing the gun like it's put on max sense . Other thing is the AI in this game... really poor if you ask me.
Not AAA but fun to do if you have live gold and some friend that also has the game. overall 7.5/10 from me
edit: oh I forgot to tell the loadings are HORRIBLE! everything you do needs 30+secs of loading. Loading between levels is ok for me. But loading when you switch between primary and secondary guns is retarded. Also everything you do needs loading and really brings me out of the action.

Will this release work on a US XBOX360?
I haven't lost my mind. I know exactly where I left it.

A little quick review from me then
Played up to mission 4 in singleplayer and up to 8 in coop.
The singleplayer is, well, so so. The mechanics and graphics are fine and at times brilliant, the gameplay however is sort of lacking. The aggro-system is sort of cool but in the end its just another cover-based squad-system - in a ww2-game you would have one squad lay down suppressive fire while your other squad flanks the enemy. In Army of Two you instead have one character drawing aggro while the other flanks. Same deal, different name.
The weapon-buying system is a cool addition, adds a resource-handling which in lack of comparisons actually kind of remind me of the Mechwarrior games. You get to deck out your characters weapon in between games, do u wanna save your cash for the minigun or upgrade your ak47 with a grenade launcher? Only thing that bothers me a bit is why even add a "gear"-section (armor) in the shop when there only are three kits that unlocks THEMSELVES and actually make no (that i could see) difference when it comes to protection.
I found myself getting quite bored with the game after i had been playing it for the first 4 missions in singleplayer, its just rinse and repeat on an endless linear threadmill. Then my friend came over to play some guitar hero and i coerced him into playing Army of Two with me instead.
This is where the game shines (like its a big surprise to me that coop is the good shit). It's basically GoW with a cocky attitude, more weapons and alot more enemies. Oh and you wear armorplated hockeymasks. Unlike GoW the weaponselection actually adds for a bit of tactics when you play the coop, there are definite advantages with one player opting for a reliable, accurate, long range primary weapon while the other chooses a heavy machinegun or shotgun for close combat. Doing that you can easily have the long range guy taking most of the aggro most of the times while the close range guy finishes the baddies off close and personal. And since you can switch weapons with your partner ingame you dont have to keep doing the same job.
Oh and as for the story, the cutscenes are very cool and nicely done but the actual story, lol, if you want predictible then this is your best bet. You know the tough guy that is all piss and vinegar, sports a mohawk and basically tells you to fuck off during the first mission?
Spoiler: | He tries to kill you in the end, wow it turns out he was a badguy, who would have guessed? |
And well you cant really review Army of Two without making a straight comparison to GoW. GoW was better the first time i coop'ed it because it had an interesting story and you were sort of afraid to die most of the time. Army of Two pretty much encourages you to just charge armorplated hockeymask-wearing face-first into it all. Thats just me though, others might disagree.
If you plan on playing this solo, i would say it's a 7/10. It's fun enough, the time flies when you're playing, the guns actually costing a decent amount of money makes you wanna complete it more than a couple of times if u wanna own every weapon with every upgrade, totally pimped out.
If you plan on doing it coop, which you should, i'll give it a 8.5/10, very close to a 9/10. There are things that annoy, aiming with the more powerful weapons for one. But it's alot of fun and doing it with your buddy just adds to the whole experience.
