Any modern well-programmed PC-game have no problems switching from 4:3 to 5:4, 16:9 or 16:10, it's just a question whether the team that ported the console version to PC took the time to do it properly and in this case they didn't.

Yes, yes and No.

Yes because the game is indeed cracked, and then yes again because the game keeps crashing in a timely fashion and finally no, I doubt you'd be able to use the clone version without a Virtual IDE-interface.

crash because of the crack or the game itself?

1> Nobody knows
2> Try it!

I can't believe some people expect to be spoon fed instead of actually trying something.

The crack is probably fine I use the clone version myself and it also crashes after about 30 minutes or so without any general errors, doesn't seem to matter what I do.
(Climbing a tower, riding around in the landscape, attacking guards or such - game just crashes after a while.)

EDIT: Read that pressing alot of buttons might relate to the crashes, might be true as I use alot of keys during events like climbing and fighting.

Yep. The crashes have nothing to do with the crack. They are completely related to the build of the game.

This is entirely my opinion but this game sucks big time for the pc. The whole feel it has on the consoles is gone, plus it stutters like a motherfucker.

Didn't stutter for me at all, and it's awesome. Haven't had a crush yet, though I haven't played that much.

well I think since the games release date is over a month away there will be video card updates that are required to run the game properly
everyone crashes after first level, must be the cut scene or something.

does everyone crash after the first level?
what kind of video card are you using?

using clone running dx10 1680x1050 everything full but AA, crashing completely randomly after roughly an hour, doesnt seem to be related to anything you do since ive crashed while just going forward, looking around, climbing, fighting, no crashes during loading/saving/cutscenes

and ive never crashed before playing 40-60 minutes , seems like a "leak" to me

Once again the posters at Nforce marvels me.

We have such a mix of people, from the fanboi's to the ones that just judge on merit, to the ones that seems to hate things with a passion that fanatical muslims would envy, to the stupid ones and the clever ones.

Like saying "The game stutters like a motherfucker" well then, maybe you should stop trying to play it on a x386 eh ?

All in all I have played the game around 2½ hours now using the Clone, I have had 1 random crash about 15 min into the game and then nothing since.
Im still not sure what my take is on the whole "going back in time" thing since I just wanted to be a medieval assassin, but the "game" itself is amazing, the view is beautiful almost everywhere you get and seeing things from the Viewpoints are so cool.

The combat is so-so, but then it's an assassin game, not a rambo game and I enjoy the whole "stab blade in neck" part Smile

All in all, this game is on my Purchase list for when it comes out, Port or no port, bugs or no bugs

1) I hate the goddamn useless story, why can't you just be an assassin and that's it ?
2) I hate the long starting part of the game and the tutorial ... overuse of postprocessing effects , unskippable boring videos etc.
3) I hate those black bars (it's also strange when the mouse wanders off there!)
4) I hate having to quit/exit 2-3 times to actually close the game !
5) I hate not having vibration for my awesome logitech gamepad, screw the 360 monstrosity.

Anyway, I'm gonna wait for this to be polished with a couple of patches (hopefully). Maybe new Nvidia drivers, or some ini tweaking. It does run pretty good, considering. And the animation is awesome.

On another note, I don't see any shadows on characters (well, "under" them) I have set it at 2 in the options. What's up with that ?

EDIT: I am running the game on 1024x768 (on a 19") and the black borders are bigger than in the previously posted screenshots. They cover about 1/5 of the screen (added I mean)

I have the same feelings for this game as i do about the 360 version

AVERAGE GAME AT BEST...

Its not bad.. but its not good

Dont get me wrong.. sound is amazing.. graphics are great... but the gameplay is what i hate about consoles... there are SOOOOOOOoo many "tricks" they use in this game to make you think your doing more than you actually are..

is anyone else having an issue entering Jerusalem?

Sometimes I get stuck in the loading "world" other times it just crashes. Haven't had any crashing issues until this point, but I just cannot seem to enter the city.

Few questions here:
1. Any 1 tried to play the game on a laptop?
I mean if I got dual 2.2GHZ cpu +2gbram + 8400GS it should work right? I dont need super high setting, can I at least run it with medium settings?

2. It'll take me the whole day to read 38 pages so can someone tell me whats the final solution for the game? clone version? reloaded? some people say reloaded crashes some dont I dont know what to think already.
Getting the reloaded version now is there somthing I need to know?

I try again.

How are you guys gettin the reloaded release installed. I have tried 3 versions of Daemons (don't have 4.12 with IDE emu though, although I tried with 4.10 IDE emu) and none seem to be working. I can see all the files on the image but when I try to open any of them I get "file not found" errors.

Does this have to be burnt to be installed? If so, then i i assume it must be 9GB DVD?

Thanks for any help guys,
-Z

I've noticed that those crashes are caused not by the game, but by NVIDIA driver. This nasty little triangle in tray... Give your driver versions so maybe we can find out which are working and which are crashing the game. I'm using 169.25

edit: Of course I might be wrong. If some of you are using ATI and experiencing same problems than my idea probably sucks Very Happy

Here are some hints...
First of all change the shortcut to run "AssassinsCreed_Game.exe" instead of "AssassinsCreed_Launcher.exe" so you will avoid downloading possible any updates you dont want..

Audio problems... I had the same problem as a few others with no audio during the conversation in the lab in the beginning.. I solved it by renaming eax.dll in the game dir and copying the one from STALKER there using that instead.. Just an older version of the dll.. Works like a charm now.. Smile

Im getting those random crashes aswell and also seeing some graphic "anomalies" like some houses gets twisted like from the twilight zone stretching across the screen like a wall..

Oh and what is high and low profile? Very Happy Is that like a "stance" and how do I change between them?

I think the High and Low Profile are automatic,

High Profile = Weapon Drawn, or weapon lockon

Low profile = Alert status to yellow or lower, walking, running ect.

High Profile = hold RMB, you can run, sprint, jump, scale walls, shove people out of your way in rather rude fashion, and in melee your stance switches to aggressive one. In options you can make high profile to be toggle instead of hold RMB too (gameplay options are only accessible when you're in the game, not in main menu, meh).
