Sheesh, this game looks like crap! Better to play Lock On (or whatever it was called) with some IDF mods (if you insist on IDF Laughing).

Yeah. The only way you would ever do that IS in a video game. Israel has the best fighter pilots in the world. . . regardless what you think about them as a people or country.

Sorry to see this thread become so political. Sad

Anyways, if you liked Wings Over Europe or Wings Over Vietnam, you will probably enjoy this one too (it includes much improved AI, and is also open source so there are already lots of freeware add-on aircraft and what not already available - vista support is supposed to be coming).

Yes, it is not there in terms of Lock-On graphics, but it really isn't to bad at all.

The game itself has been released (indeed, it can be purchased and download from Third Wire's online store), but at this point, it has not made it to the scene...at least to my knowledge.

Unfortunately, simulators tend to be neglected a bit...

You know in Israel every man and woman has to enter the military right?

They are a small country, but they get the pick of the litter when it comes to specialized military roles.

National military service is mandatory for Jewish and Druze men and Jewish women over the age of 18, although exceptions may be made on religious, physical or psychological grounds.

Men serve three years in the IDF, while women serve two. The IDF allowed women who volunteer for several combat positions to serve for three years because combat soldiers must undergo a lengthy period of training. Women in other positions, such as programmers, who require lengthy training time may also serve three years. Women in most combat positions are also required to serve as reserve for several years after their dismissal from regular service.

Following regular service, men may be called for reserve service of up to one month annually, until the age of 43-45 (reservists may volunteer after this age), and may be called for active duty immediately in times of crisis. In most cases, the reserve duty is carried out in the same unit for years, in many cases the same unit as the active service and by the same people. Many soldiers who have served together in active service continue to meet in reserve duty for years after their discharge, causing reserve duty to become a strong male bonding experience in Israeli society. A well-known Israeli joke refers to civilians as soldiers on 11-month furlough.

I guess it's hard to stay in topic when the topic is so...low grade (the game ofc)
Anyway, for Kommando, I know you're just saying what everyone else at your level of knowledge of the situation is thinking.

No one cares enough to check the facts, and we all like scapegoats...it doesn't matter who's suffering in the world right now and how to help them...nope, first we must figure out who's TO BLAME.
I'd tell you to go read on the entire situation (from both sides' POV's) but I'd be throwing rocks on a very, very thick brick wall.

So by all means, don't trouble yourself trying to stand out in a finger-pointing crowd, it's much easier to conform.
