Yeah I've found it hard to get some money. Still trying to find a good way to make some cash. Anywayz, yeah once you get to San Fierro theres a few annoying missions. Theres a god damn ton of mini games to play! I was playing pool at one of the bars in San Fierro, not bad Smile You can even play 2 players! Might try to save up for some land in SF to see how much revenue can be made, will keep you's posted Very Happy

yeah the poolgame is fun!
i finally started robbing houses at night but it doesn't pay off that much either. i whole night of robbing barely got me 800$. i robbed the poor hoods tho, maybe i should try the more rich neighborhoods.
the only way i know for sure gives you a lot of cash is the firetruck missions, those easily pay up 20.000$ for 15minutes of playing or so.
but i can't find the damn firetruck anymore. :/

you gonna kick yourself lol ... the horn is on the left analogue stick (the one you steer with) by pressing it down .. so if you release your thumb pressure the honking will stop

How big is the game? Can you really drive through the countryside like in mafia, i find that hard to believe.
I think about buying a PS2 for this too, but how about the drawing distance and the texture quality compared to the series on pc? And the most important thing, can the dvd drive of the ps2 read dvd+r or only -r?
Questions over questions maybe someone can help me Smile

Yes you can drive through the countryside, the game is huge!
Graphics isn't everything in this kind of game, I don't complain.

I've read that you shouldn't use +r in a ps2.
-r works just fine.

uhm yeah you can drive trough the countryside if thats your thing Smile no clue compared to mafia, i never really finished that game. (i know i know, shoot me Razz)
the drawing distance is more than acceptable if u keep the ps2's hardware in mind. it's far enough but not "complete" like it would be on pc.
texture quality is also, well, decent. it's the same as vice city but a lot more polygons, it all looks a lot more polished. just keep vice city in mind & you won't be dissapointed. if you keep doom3 in mind you WILL be dissapointed graphicswise. but i'm sure you'll get hooked to the game to disregard the graphics. compared to pc it's A LOT more aliased (lots of jagged edges, it'll probably hurt your eyes at first, especially if you use a PAL ps2 with the NTSC version)

And ps2 can read both, BUT there's lots of problems with dvd+r, i suggest you use dvd-r disks.

anyway, whoever suggested to blow up cars for to get the firetruck, at first it worked but the cops were all over me already for blowing up the cars.. then after a few retries the truck didnt even show up anymore.
BUT i found where it is. in the big city area in los santos you have this big intersection (a spiderweb like road/freeway), it's on a road right above that intersection.
i played with it up to level 11 (15min) & made about 30.000$ Smile

The newer ps2 models reads everything. +r -r +rw -rw and you can use whichever you want, it wont make a different except that -r have a higher compatibility. But some good +r discs will work just as good.

I have used +r -r and +rw and all have worked flawless but then again, i have a v10 ps2 and i always use good media.

Thanks for the cash tip lonewolf. It's a pain to get some decent cash.
I have collected around $5000 by just shooting gang members but man that is extremely time consuming and not a very good way of earning cash Very Happy

i got a new ver10 console and use maxell+r which have been fantastic (not one coaster) ,but i did have some maxell+rw which just didn't work at all.. hope i have more luck with some -rw .. apparently after searching different sources, consoles of the same version can have different laser types ?? and there is a certain type which will cope with all ,but i don't know how true that is ... anybody here have success with rw's ?

As i wrote i have.
I have used +rw verbatim and it's actually the best disc i have ever used.
It's too bad though that verbatim's +rw disc's are so expensive.
But try them if you want a really really good disc.

-r ritek works extremely well also but the verbatim +rw is still better (you can hear it on the sound when the ps2 reads the disc).

Or you can just get a PS2 Adapter and a MAXTOR Hard Drive and just put your images on that. No load times, or load times cut significantly down. Game has not lagged or locked up or anything on me. Just pure straight gaming. That and you save money on having to buy DVD's and can actually backup DVD9's.

You cant just buy an adapter and a hdd because not all chips supports it.
Budget chips like the Duo SE do not for example.

And it's actually cheaper to buy disc's if you have a shitload of games.
Lets say you have 200 games. 200 games would need around 700GB and that's FAR more expensive than 200 ritek disc's Smile

lol
how would they make a rip out of a 4.5gig game? on pc perhaps, altho i very much doubt that too.
besides, that would probably mean that they'd take out all the sound & music in the game, is this is probably the biggest storage consumer.
why would you wanna play without sound & music, that's like drinking alcohol-free alcohol. Razz

The sex appeal seems weird. One time it was way above 50% but suddenly it just fell down to like 1%. I had the exact same cloths as before and my muscle mass was exactly the same. Everything was basicly the same, so really, the sex appeal shit is weird.

And one time it also happened when i took a meal (one single meal). After the meal it was down to like 1% and before the meal it was around 30%. Loosing your sex appeal after 1 single meal...YEAH RIGHT! So yeah it's extremely weird and not very realistic at all Smile

200 games? Not for me sir. Definitely NOT for the PS2. And I dont know whats cheaper than buying a 60 dollar HD and a 20 dollar Adapter. My system is set up so that I can swap PS2 games in and out of my PS2 HD if I chose, but I just dont grab that many games - they aint worth it and I dont have the time.

IF you have 200games or just alot of game it's cheaper. No need to argue about that. 700GB cost ALOT and 200 disc do not.

edit: It would actually be cheaper to buy disc's regardless of how many games you got. For around 50-60bucks you get 100disc's and that is 100 games. You can hardly fit 100 games on a hdd that cost 60bucks Smile
So yeah discs are cheaper regardless of what.

And if you dont collect just buy a 25pack of dvd-r. It cost like 19$.
The only reason to buy a hdd for your ps2 would be to cut down loading times but other than that it's waste of money. But if you dont care about the price difference buy a hdd but if you want the cheapest way regardless of how many games you want buy disc's Smile

::shrugs::

Havent bought a DVD pack in months. Havent had to delete any games off my HD or those I did I did so cause the game stunk or I dont play it anymore.

Ill simply say for those who like to keep their games then sure the DVD route is the way to go.

Those who arent habitual game collectors - HD is your best option.

lonewolf: Well, if they just ripped the radio stations and speech in movie clips, like in Vice City, I wouldn't really complain! Still subtitles on movie clips + the music is shitty as always in any video game Smile
