  • Official web page: LINK
  • Publisher: Deep Silver
  • Developer: BrainGame
  • Genre: Adventure
  • Release date: 2008
  • Story/Description:
    Quote:

As if blasting into space at ridiculous speeds isn't adventure enough, now one of the most famous astronauts in the world is getting ready for an all-new adventure. No, it's not Neil Armstrong, Juri Gagarin, or even Albert the monkey. It's the fictional Perry Rhodan, coming to save mankind on PC later this year.

Perry Rhodan will be a traditional 2.5D adventure, enhanced visually by such features as real-time lighting and shading and atmospheric weather effects. More importantly, the story has been written under the direction of the series' main current author, Robert Feldhoff, with assistance from Austrian Perry Rhodan author Michael Marcus Thurner. The inclusion of both writers reflects the commitment by the development team to creating an authentic Perry Rhodan experience for fans of the series, though they're quick to point out that the game will be just as welcoming for newcomers with no existing knowledge of the books. more

    Futures:
  • 5 different worlds
  • 2D/3D-symbiosis;
  • Over 60 complex animated 3D humans, extraterrestrials and robots
  • Real time of light and shade effects

75/100 how is that disappointing?

Although the dialogue rating was a bit too low,but we'll see what that means when the english version comes out.Smile

Review's are subjective if you like adventure games maybe this game will be a 90 for you it got 9/10 for atmosphere which I like, if it isn't below 40 it usually is very playable especially if you like the genre, to sum it up 75 is a very good score and not bad.

Meh, scores on adventure games are ones that mean nothing to me. Its all just too objective and how you like the story. I never liked sam and max, not even all monkey island games. I would score all of them in low 70’s but by some they are considered some of the best adventure games ever made. On other hand some that I really liked are thought to be bad by those people.

I am maximalist Smile

Reviewer also suggest that puzzles have good variety (however with great difficulty variety as well) and 'often logical'. What could really spoil the game is stupid and childish puzzles!

In general yes, however GameStar is one of few with which I tend to agree in the most times.

In adventure games, I don't agree with them anymore. They gave "Penumbra: Dark Plague" also only 75%, "Sam and Max: Night of the Raving Dead" scored only 76% and "Overclocked" got 72%. For me, these three games were the best I've played last month.

another german mag says, you need 'backgroundinformations' about the perry rhodan universe ... or it will be 'boring' to read all the textfiles to get that background information about npcs.

pcg gives 70 of 100 ...

I hate adventure games wich are fully 3D. Pre rendered backgrounds + 3D characters is best for theese kind of games. For me its annoying if i have to mess with the camera all the time.
