Hi all,
Extreme newbie here!
I've searched this site (and others) but cannot get my version of Rome.Total.War-RELOADED to work.
I really hope what I'm asking for doesn't break the site rules (I'm pretty sure it doesn't), but I've followed this site's instructions to a point and then floundered. Here is what I read on this site:
1. Unrar
2. Burn of mount with Daemon tools
3. Install the game
4. Copy over the cracked executable located in the /Crack directory on cd1 to your installation directory.
5. Play the game
I'm afraid I break down at stage four. If I just try and play the game as it is I'm asked to insert cd1 (as expected). I've not been able to find a /Crack directory anywhere, and I've searched everywhere. I downloaded the no cd cracks from Gamecopyworld (both V.1.0 and V.1.1) and replaced the original icon(?) with these versions. The game tries to play but the screen just shows a scrambled image of the true picture.
Where am I going wrong?
Thanks in advance for any time you spend on my problem.

there should be a folder called crack on the cd.
if you haven't updated the game to version 1.1 then you should only use the crack for version 1.0.
it is the .exe file your replacing , not an icon. if you've put it in the right folder, it will ask if you want to overwrite the existing file.
also you may have done it right, but your graphic driver, chipset drivers, directX, may be out of date.

Just in case anybody else is reading this thread, and seeking help for the same problem, I now realise what my problem was.
Being slightly retarded, I hadn't checked that my system was fully compliant with the minimum specs required by the game. All the major ones were (processor, ram, video card etc.), but my rather archaic monitor is only capable of 800 x 600 resolution, and not the 1024 x 768 minimum specified (at least I assume this is the problem, I will post again if the problem remains when I take delivery of my brand spanking new second-hand monitor).
Thanks to anyone who considered my problem anyway.
