yeah I had the same problem.. very annoying, makes game completely unplayable
just uninstall the game but keep saved games and install again without patching to 1.1 and load previous saves.. it works!
the game is great .. finally something fresh!

CryEngine 2 for consoles will be shown at this years GDC event.
(It might or might not be related to a Crysis port but the engine itself probably works OK on consoles.)

Dont even bother with cracked servers
I got a legit copy a couple of days ago and tonight I was 1 of the three players online in the WORLD playing with dx10. Sad state of affairs.

Besides, what's the difference between DX10 and DX9 in MP? Just some stupid day/night cycle.

You also get some more physics interaction in DX10 multiplayer but I think it's mainly for destroying the trees and perhaps those shacks.
(There's also something called "battledust" but I don't really know what it adds, perhaps more particle effects during explosions?)

yep thats pretty much all dx10 is good for in multiplayer. killing trees....which i gotta say is pretty pointless as far as im concerned.
...now if u could do cool shit like pick up dead corpses and use em as shields... sigh if only the game was made by an american company, think of all the cool shit that would be in there... might even have had a story...

The first weekly update is now available via the InCrysis fansite, contains quite a few details about the upcoming 1.2 patch but there's no release date set for it yet.

what do you think the patch'll do... ignore all previous game issues, or just create completely new problems that didnt exist before... or do you think crytek will really go all out, and do both

Heh, hard to say what will happen with patch 1.2, especially after it became known that patch 1.1 broke compatibility with the Sandbox 2 editor when handling AI entities.
I do hope they listened a bit more to the community when it comes to fixes and additions but it's hard to say how it will turn out.
(They had alot of time with the first patch yet it still didn't fix that many problems albeit things look a bit better for the second patch but the development is going rather slow.)
Oh and ragdolls would be fun but seeing as they banned discussion about such modification in fear of the german rating board I don't think it will ever happen.
(There's even a ragdoll 'crack' available after patch 1.1 since it altered some DLL files to make sure that such effects could not be easily enabled albeit bullet holes, blood sprays and decals seems to be allowed for some reason.)

I finished the game using 1.1 from start to finish without issues. Good game, even if my computer didn't appreciate it.

such a pity that the multiplayer is so unpolished.
it'll be dead before it's even really finished with the insanely long development times on the patches here.
it's just really sad because the power struggle mode itself is awesome.

yeah i bought it for the multiplayer and have actually abandoned it, i just cant be fucked. zero support for multiplayer from crytek... what those idiots dont understand is that its the multiplayer thats going to keep the game alive... they want people to be playing this a year or 2 from now? wont happen, because noones going to stick around when the multiplayer has this many problems...... crytek... all flash and pretty colours, but no substance or brains... they are bad game developers.

Nah man, in 2020 when this game was meant to be released everything will be perfect. I can't believe people actually say shit like that. If it can't run on a 3,000 system it's a piss poor engine. That is all, I mean WTF did they develop it on, I recall them saying over and over again that the 8800's would be more then enough they were just trying to optimize it for other lesser cards. Then it comes out and the entire story changes. I think the engine is just flawed. I mean look at the patch for instance it increased performance considerably for me with no change in graphic quality that i could notice. Also, it seems the damn graphics settings can't even remember what you pick. I have had the shit change on me so many times i just gave up on trying to set certain things to medium and others to high, because after three times of playing they would all just say high.
Game needs to be patched for another year, then i'll play it again.

Crysis sold over 1 million copies worldwide
Crysis & Other EA Titles Make EA Mega Bucks
"This was a record revenue quarter for EA and the single biggest revenue quarter for any third party publisher in our industry," said John Riccitiello, Chief Executive Officer. "While we are disappointed that two titles slipped out of the March quarter, Burnout Paradise is off to a terrific start and we are looking forward to the upcoming launches of Army of Two and FIFA Street 3."
Need for Speed Pro Street sold over 5.5 million copies in the quarter -- over 65 percent internationally.
FIFA 08 sold over 4.5 million copies in the quarter and is EA's top-selling title year-to-date.
The Simpsons Game sold 4.0 million copies in the quarter and was the highest rated entertainment-based game in 2007.
The critically-acclaimed Rock Band had a strong North American launch on the Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3 and PlayStation 2 -- selling 1.5 million copies.
Crysis sold over 1 million copies worldwide
Skate outsold Tony Hawk by 2:1.
The Orange Box "exceeded expectations."

tried playing crysis again today... played it for 10 minutes, got to a checkpoint... saving checkpoint.... minute later, crash to desktop... argh...
patch 1.2 means the game just starts with a 'lets cut ot the chase... this aint gonna work so let me save you some time...' message, and just auto crashes to desktop immediately before u even start playing.
edit:
Crytek’s internal anti-cheat solution is being fully implemented into Crysis
ahahaha yeah.. ok... like crytek know how to stop cheating

Im running Vista now with 2 GB of ram, It ran ok'ish on high settings before, with 1GB of RAM on XP. I wonder how it will cope on vista.
I also have to try STALKER again.

Hrrrmmm.. Probably about the same or worse, actually. Vista really pisses on anything less than 2gb and even 2 is just decent enough to play games. It's like going from 512 to 1 gig on XP. So yeah, 4gb on vista is like the new 2gb with xp. Or something |
Preeettttyyyy much. 4GB makes vista the better operating system.

just HAD to bring this topic back up, just to say how much the multiplayer now sucks. if crytek ever hoped to make the multiplayer component of this game a big thing, theyve fucked it so badly... worldwide theres now about 7 servers that really see any action... thats worldwide, not just in my country... went to a server... yay teamkiller... got banned for killing him too many times, hehe.. so went to an instant action sever... yay hacker... ugh, crytek didnt support the multiplayer component of this game, they fucked up when they made it by making it so open... just useless... so much potential, and now its dead... noone cares about it anymore, and neither do i.. oh how i wish i bought the orange box instead
