I was about to book my trip to Las Vegas and my fucking engine light in my car comes on... GREAATTT I think, theres a few hundred bucks down the line..
I take it to my mechanic, and the OBDII code is piston misfire. He looks at it, one of the heads is damaged. Bout $1000 later.... I am probably not going to fucking vegas. Instead I have a working car.. to drive my ass to work some more.. to pay for the fucking car. Absolutely irritating. I was just about to get my credit card paid off too.
I also have a driving test tomorrow for my G license.. been putting it off way too long, and I'm pretty nervous about it. Another $50 if I pass to get my license reissued or another $75 and THEN $50 if I fail... so annoying. Fuck Ontario driving.

What kind of car? Most CEL's are emission related but before you pay $1k for work on the head I'd replace the Plugs, Wires or even the coils and injectors. A lot of the time when a code is pulled for cylinder misfire it's a single bad injector.
Did this happen out of no where? Or would it happen only on hard acceleration? If it came out of the blue like that then I'd say #1 is one injector. Especially if you didn't get any shuddering or hear misfiring yourself.

I know the mechanic and he showed me the OBDII results. The car was definitely shifting and accelerating hard, and when it hit 4k RPMs it was starting to shake like crazy. It sort of happened out of no where, and if I pulled off to the side of the road, and was on a bit of a slant, the light would blink.
Changed the plugs, and wires as well, just for regular maintenance. I bought it used, it is a 2005 sebring limited. Got her for 8k financed with 70,000 KMs on it. Not exactly the typical 20 year olds car, but its got a really nice interior, nice stock sound system, etc...

Yeah, if the car was running like ass then it could actually be a mis firing cylinder. But before going the lengths of pulling off the head etc, I'd still replace the injector as precaution. (Better then dumping a ton of $ and finding out later it wasn't the cylinder)
Good Luck, car trouble at the worst time is lame. Think about taking a rental car to Vegas?

I was going to be flying out to san diego and driving with a friend from there, but the ticket to SD is like 500 or to LA is like 370.. and then the cash to spend in vegas is basically gone. It's pretty shit at this point. I might just fly to SD and hang out with my friend.

Maybe you can do it later after the car is paid.
There are huge flight deals right now to Vegas. I saw some at flight center for 300 something, 3 night accom at a 3 star hotel included. Food is super cheap there too and you DRINK for FREE if you are gambling. You can do nickel slots or something. There have entertainment on the walks too in front of the hotels.

Yea I'd have to wait til the summer at the earliest I think... I'm in just too much debt right now. I had forgotten I used my mother's credit card to pay for some schooling fees I need to pay off, few hundred there, few hundred on a CC I cancelled but didn't pay off as I thought I had... bills just are flying at me left and right.

SO FUCK THIS SHIT.
I paid for it all, and guess what. My engine light comes back on FUCKING TODAY. And on top of that, some asshole fucking clipped my mirror and drove off leaving me to foot the bill for THAT. AND fucking unbelievable, with the shitty roads, my car slipped backing out of my driveway and hit a car who was RETARDEDLY parked at the foot of my driveway across the street, and I have to foot the bill for that... this is unreal.

No possible way to afford it anymore Credit card is maxed out and I have $5 to my name.. going to have to wait til next paycheque to pay for body damage, and then paycheque after to start clearing my CC off.... My engine light may be the extreme cold here today. In celsius it was -18 when i started the car... which is retardedly cold. Plus with the side view bashed up and snow on the wires, that could be it as well. I think I'm just going to drive with it on for a few days see if it goes away.

I always buy shitty cars, that way I don't really care about the damage. I had no luck with newer vehicles.

I had a few newer cars, two were fords. Basically I would have either a lemon or some dink would ruin it. Lost mirrors, broken into.
Now no one touches anything! Get a shitbox.

@mart
That is cuz you live in crack- land (BC, Canada) where everyone is stealing what not outta your car. Even a few pop bottles in the back of a car are fair game here.

I always thought my area would be better than it is. It's funny that they have the bait car
program that they tout as being effective, but the level of theft is still so high.

I liked the "bait car program'' . It did work in Surrey, It was the cap of car theif in North America per cap. for awhile until that program.
