Thanks for your useless ranting again. | Ships which seemingly randomly break isn't just "one little glitch", it was the third bug I'd encountered in play in only a short time. This is also something that could be a major issue, as the ship also wouldn't engage enemies in combat, which is what lead to my scuttling him. As far as I know there is campaign, but wanting to see how good it is and how good is the ai, is the only reason that I haven’t bought it jet.

There is no campaign right now. No word if it will be included in the future or not.

Nowhere did the developers say there was going to be a campaign and it's also on the FAQ and the feature list.
It features a very userfriendly map editor though, so you could get potentially infinite number of different maps, also they've released the editor they used for the maps "Galaxy Forge" where you with a bit more time can produce your 100% own maps.
The game is 100% moddable and many projects including mods based on "Star Wars, Star Trek, Babylon 5, Battlestar:Galactica"
Not to mention the game looks good and runs well even on lower spec'ed machines, so everybody can join in the multiplayer carnage, and not like "Supreme Commander", which was too demanding for some people.
As I see it the game has a lot going for it despite it lacking a singleplayer campaign, which truth be told tends to be more of a tutorial these days in RTS's.
So there really isn't any reason for there to be a campaign, you can just make your own if you want, or make something up and play that on your own with a custom map.
As I see it, it's the best space rts since "Homeworld", and it's certainly more fun in multiplayer than "Sword of The Stars", and can take just as long to play if you play on the larger maps. Not to mention it's a thinking man's RTS like "Supreme Commander" (sorry AnimalMother) and not like "Command & Conquer 3".
Then theres the whole aspect of having to think in multiple strategic levels when theres more than one star... I like this game a lot.

QFT.
At first I was disappointed by the lack of campaign as well, just as I was disappointed by the lack of quality SP campaign in GalCiv2, but the more I thought about it the more it makes sense. I figure the time they waste in making a lackluster campaign(since they have a limited budget to begin with) would have taken away so many features that make the game so deep. And like Epsilon says, most RTS campaigns are tutorials with some filler stuffed in, which often just serve to frustrate with the gimped number of tech tree options and the lack of any carry-over from one mission to the next.
I forsee the game being a huge hit with modders(*crosses fingers for a Wing Commander campaign mod*) and in the meantime, I figure there is Plenty to enjoy with random maps and mapeditor and mp and so on. Plus, I am sure being on board with Stardock, Ironclad has much, much more in store for us who support these devs against intrusive copy protection. Always seems like we get our money's worth and then some with anything Stardock. Love everything that comes from those guys.

Good game, but has problems, heres what I've seen so far:
I don't care much for the pirates...I like the concept, just not the way its implemented...one things for sure its a huge money sink. This is debatable though, some will like some will not.
Ships just sit there and shoot at each other, not moving. Kinda stupid looking, and not very exciting to watch.
Multi-player needs some patching, the game list has a big bug that makes it lists all the games that have already started/closed, so most games say failed when you try to join.
When people lose they just quit, they don't surrender, so you don't win, and you have to spend upwards of an hour finishing off all their bases, very stupid...I've won 4 games, I have credit for one, so much for stat tracking.

pirates are annoying but i guess they do add to the game and its a nice little feature, ive pretty much won the ai just buy putting bounty on them all the time before.
ships not moving doesnt detract from the game to much for me it would be cool if the smaller ships orbited the larger ones when they were attacking.
yea multiplayer is annoying it reminds me of civilization 4, in multi on that game if one arsehole noob had a router but not the ports forwarded he would stop anyone else from joining the games room even if he wasnt the host i sure hope thats not what is happening in this game

My most recent battle, why I don't know, but somehow my 3 opponents decided I was a threat that had to be eliminated so they sent cap fleet after cap fleet into my realm..
Luckily for me I'm pretty skilled at playing my race, in a fight that took 30minutes I lost not one cap ship, but must've killed over 20 of my opponents.
This is a fight that took place over my homeworld.

yeah I love the battles I had 2 fleets in different areas and one of the factions brought there fleet to take out one of my resource outpost. So my one fleet was there to defend but was being overwhelmed went for there cap ship and sent my second fleet back to the area for reinforcements. As soon as my guys showed up and start pummeling there ass they took off. I love how the AI adjusts to the confrontations.

Don't you know how hard it is to be a software developer? That's not a bug, its a minor glitch..no wait, a feature! Its to make sure you build up some rage to take out on your opponents when you actually find one..

This game is too much macro and not action... plus it's slow as hell, have no music and the explosions look like crap. Deleted after wasting 2h on a "scenario".

This game has its problems but I think with a little bit of fixing it could turn into a decent game. Sadly most likely this will be up to modders so lets hope someones interested in modding it.

I wouldn't call the bugs a major problem but the game itself seems to lack in major areas something patchs won't be able to fix... and if they do somehow then the game was simply released to early and the intended content never made it in... which I certainly wouldn't see as "excellent support"
*edit* Also a big hint of a game being released to early is when a patch comes extremely fast it usually means they shipped it knowing of certain bugs.

Based on a post on "Cheat Happens" the patch is called "Sins_Bonuspack_101_setup.exe" and a quick google search found a few download links without any problems.

The bonuspack install fine
Yesterday i played a cool Sins of Solar Empire game in hamachi
Here are two networks
soase_beta3
solar empire
both networks has password 123
As usual write the network somewhere (a txt file is fine) , if they get full they usually will be purged of all non-premium members everyday so u need to rejoin them at every hamachi login.
