Hi all ,Two years ago i bought a bfg 7800 gtoc pcie gfx card with a life warranty, two weeks ago my gfx cards overheated and stopped working, return it to Bfg and they sent me back a 8600 gtoc pcie , cause the 7800 was discontinued. I thought they would have send me a 8800. Did a got screwed , i know it is a newer model but is it performing less than the 7800 ? or should i asked for a 8800 ?

well 8600 gto is crap comparing to 7800 gto
so yes if u can ask u should go for 8800 GT or 8800 GTS 320mb at least

I bench marked exact same system in my sig with a vanilla 7900 GT vs 8600 GT and there was a noticeable performance difference ....

I'd expect at least an 8600gts, but wouldn't be happy with a gt..
8800 is prolly too much to expect, if you get one it would be the result of the century, even the 256meg version..
