Dedication - 7.5/10
A gem, i wasn't aware of this movie but gave it a chance because of what i thought was a good cast and an intresting plot.
I wasn't proved wrong infact i was surprised, i was sort of expecting a simple rom-com but it was really great. The best movie i've seen this year (okay i havn't seen that many new movies in 08 but it still counts for something).
I think this movie has the potential to win some awards, atleast i was impressed. If you come bye it give it a chance.

Excellent movie, I love the gritty almost documentary like style. You really feel like you've been on a journey with the characters.

avp2 : 5,5/10 ... if i should judge it by my expectations i would rate it much worse, it's still a watchable movie, with a very nice animation and special effects, unfortunately the avp2 saga up to now fails to excite me, i still 10 times prefer the first two aliens and the 2 predator (especially the first) movies.

well i only gave it a 4 because of the genre and costumes werent too bad, and i HAVE seen worse films, but make no mistake, this film is still not really acceptable by any real standards.
would have been cool to have had some more info on the monster and stuff

I've heard this complaint too many times. I'm glad they didn't explain the monster and all that. I'd rather come up with my own assumptions than being force fed something.
AVP is getting too high a ranking for you guys.. 5 means like... average... That movie is a complete fail.
2/10 tops. Saw in theatres when I was so drunk I pissed in the middle of the parking lot and stumbled into the theatres in the middle of the day, and still managed to completely hate it.
alas me too... well i miss the 90s arnold, not the t3/end of days arnold... but t2/true lies arnold... holy fuck, i dont know if we'll ever see a more important action film icon ever again... at his peak, noone came close, not even bruce or sly, who also are massively important film icons by their own right... but holy shit... arnie... legend can be applied to so few people, but he surely is one.
ah ya suck. i just now finished watching it, and holy fuck, sly you did it you bastard, you made my smile again and remember the good ol days. simple plot setup, it wasnt over-preachy which was my main worry when i heard what the story was about (ie god-squad heroes...), some interesting characters, a hell of a journey, and typical rambo flair... and fuck me that was one of the coolest final battles ever
im still fucking smiling - not from the brutality as such, but purely because it was just a fun ride like the old days... it took itself seriously, but not to the point where it stopped having fun, you know?
8.5/10, definately going to get this in 1080, unless i have a bluray drive by the time it comes out, in which case id buy it.
sly did what everyone else has failed to do for the past 10+ fucking YEARS... -make a GREAT action film.
side note: the ONLY thing missing from this was a jungle stalking sequence... i dont know how he coulda fit one in, but if he'd have managed it, it would have put this over the top for me... woulda been a 9 probably... oh well.. maybe rambo 5?
