No, it's ubisoft. If it's SM3.0 it's 3.0

2.0 is way in the past, if you don't have a 3.0 card it's 1) Your fault 2)ATI's fault 3)see first one.

ATI laughed at SM3.0 and said it was pointless, not look at it, ATI fucked every single one of their customers over. Nvidia was smart and put it in back in teh 6600 cards. Were up to SM4.0 so 2.0 is going to start losing it's compatibility and use.

8 series was horrible in Double Agent and ubi said it wasn't supported, no idea what their motivation for that was. One game you HAVE to try when you get that card is RS6 Vegas. It's a slap to the RS6 franchise's face but taken as a game of it's own (I just call it vegas, it's not RS6) it was awsome.

Don`t forget Spykez that R6:vegas in not a finished game , they ended it right in the middle of the best action just like Halo 2 , i hate game makers that do that

What where they thinking that this game is a TV series or what that they allways need a big bang right on the season end to keep the audience for the next season - this is just bull

I never finished it. I got to the part where you had to protect that computer system from being shot to hell and the fucking enemies kept whoring smoke gernades and your team AI is pretty much useless.

So has anyone divined any way to save the graphics settings or the wait will continue ?

Or is there any release where the settings can be saved properly ?

the game is dead as far as any support goes. What you have is what you'll remain to have Mad Which is why I told nouseforaname to get teh console copy of it.

sorry to bump an old topic, but a couple questions ...

1) is this game worth getting? (no I don't want to reinstall SC:CT Wink)
2) will it run ok on my system (specs in sig)

Yeah it will run fine, but by "run" I mean will run the EXE fine. The game (PC version specifically) has so many bugs, I can't actually say that I can say it's worth getting. PC & 360 versions are also bad when it comes to gameplay (when compared to the far superior old-gen consoles' version). I'd say skip it.

Edit: Nouse, wtf? Why delete your post?

You won't get the awesome feeling when going through the first level as back then, but you will still get the same disappointment of going through all the other levels Laughing

If you wanna play through anything on the d3engine, Quake4 or Prey are much better choices - although still shooters on rails.

maybe will give that a shot ... looking forward to Quake4 and Prey though ... can't believe I missed those.

oh, and I remember I gave up on R6V halfway though because I got to a part where performance was so bad it was unplayable ... but that was with AMD 2000+ and 6800XT, 1024x768/800x600 in parts on lowest details .. might be a different experience this time around...

You should be ok, I played Vegas on mostly max at 1280x1024 on a 7600GT, Pentium D and only certain bits performance was horrible, I do remember points where unplayable would be a understatement Laughing Laughing , I'd say your current setup should run it on medium, playably, games quite good (Despite the bugs + performance)

Why laugh? I actually liked D3. I think it had great atmosphere and, sure gameplay was a bit dull here and there, but I think overall it was great.

there is a "flashlight" mod or something right? I did try it out long ago with terrible performance (ie play 10 minutes and delete), but I remember it being ridiculously dark ...

Well, there's a flashlight in the game, but you can't hold weapons and flashlight at the same time. But sure, there are mods to fix this.

Oh, and nouse/bs, don't forget to get the graphics mods for d3/q4 (and I think prey has some too). Things like parallax mapping and hdr are things those cards can easily afford.
