No one is whining about that. Only 1 or two and they most likley use shit media or have a shit burner or a shit ps2.
Animations are exactly the same as in previous gta game so i dont see why anyone would whine about that. Maybe they havent played any gta game before.

So aslong as you dont have shit stuff you will be fine.

The game is working perfect for me, I think san andreas kicks ass because the state is so huge and the graphics are better than vice city especially the cars. yes its on a regular dvd not dual layer so dont worry Cool

I have played for a couple of hours. I have run a few people over using my bmx bike and run them over in my car. No there is no rag-doll physics.. at least nothing anywhere near as rag-doll as Psi-Ops.
Music so far.. where is the 90's dance/house/rave/techno??? It's all rap , funk and rock!!! In my opinion also far too many cut scenes so far and not enough gameplay. Graphics so far, there are shiney floor tiles, and the street lamps glow, the inside of houses now have alot more details but so far nothing special or amazing, looks like Vice City but low-rise and sandy coloured! Just hope the xbox version is a bit better looking. Comments from my girlfriend last night like "they all move really jerky" and "the PS2 games are looking really dated now and it takes ages to load anything", she has been watching me play too many xbox games Smile

I really dont see why some complain about loading times. it takes what? 2-3secs when something loads. That is nothing.

OMG I've been playing San Andreas now for 10 hours or something like that and it's just so f*cking great! If you ask me the loading times are even a bit slower! It runs so smooth on my ps2, unbelievable! Laughing My ps2 had a lot of problems with Vice City Sad

Does anyone know when you can enter the 2 other cities? Well you can enter the 2 other cities but you will be shot by the cops within a minute, so that sucks Crying or Very sad

Very Happy Game Of The Year Very Happy

the first hour i played the game i though 'wtf, this is nothing that they said it would be, but the game grows on ya, now i cant stop playing it, sure its not the graphical experience like ZOE2 or FFX, but the gameplay is there and it rules =) so to all the people who think its not a good game, give it some time if you dont like it than then dont play. about the loading times ive never experienced long loads, must be bad media or a bad laser (as many other has said before me) but this is definitly a buy game. Good games shuld be bought and this is one of them, besides it will look nice with all the GTA's original. =)

still no sign of any rampages though and no 'car boostin' dude either :/

Ok i only wanna know ONE thing. How is the FPS (frames per second) compared to GTAIII and GTA VC ? If i say that the FPS count for GTAIII/VC was pretty bad and you don't know what im talking about you shouldn't even consider answering this question.....

So is the game jerky like the previous 2 games ? or is it the same ?

The game is most of the time at a steady 30fps but it dips at times but not that often so it doesn't destroy the gameplay.
And to be honest, the framerate for both gta3 and VC was also 30fps and 30fps on a tv is good enough since you get the blur effect of a tv and that makes 30fps alot more playable on a console than on a computer for example.
I think you are quite picky.

pallebrun: That doesn't sounds so good. Sad

Really hoped they would fix the FPS from previous games. (and despite what you think the FPS in the GTA series has been BAD).

By the way, im not picky i just think that a videogame of this age should hold a steady 30FPS or above.....

Well the gta games are extremely demanding games (they cant even be compared) and especially for a console so i dont think it's strange at all that it can dip below 30 at times. I mean, you can drive around in a HUGE and i mean a REALLY HUGE area before you get 1 single loading screen and thats not even something you see often on a pc game with way better hardware. But like i said, the framerate is at a steady 30fps most of the time. It can dip at times but usually it happens when it doesn't mather.

Why not try it? That way you will know if it's ok for you.

If you've played GTA3 or VC on the PC, you're eyes will be in pain for the first 30 minutes. The graphics are very crude when compared.

It's tolerable, and not a big deal if you never got used to the PC version, but I finished VC again on the PC just to refresh my skills for this game and it was very hard to downgrade to the lower resolution and lower res textures.

Still a very fun game though, also, the sheer massiveness of the first city is hard to learn as well. I find myself using the player target a lot even to find my way back to a safehouse. A lot of the main part of Los Santos looks similar and it's easy to get lost.

Ohhh that reminds me. I would also rather get it for the PS2 now and not wait because for some reason Vice City for the PC has audio glitches for me. After a little bit everything turned into like chipmonk voices/sounds.

Lower resolution yes but the textures are exactly the same in both version.
The gta games are straight ports and nothing else. It's easy to see while playing VC on the pc that the textures are very bad for a pc game. Just look at the palms Very Happy Or the road, it's very easy to notice it on those things.

A higher resolution tend to fool people to think that everything is better but it's just a good trick to make everything seem nicer but in reality it's not Smile A higher resolution do not transform textures to a higher grade.
But hey the trick work so i dont complain. Wink

Btw, when the hell do i get to earn some money in this game? I have played around 7%. Have done all the missions on the two dudes on my street, sweet and someone else but still no cash.
Do you get cash when you rob people at night? beating up people is no good since the wanted levels will cost me a pay and spray bill and it's often much higher than what i earned by beating people.

Might be the new "heat" effect or whatever it is (the thing that makes the screen wave) that makes you sick.
Took some time for me to get used to it but now it's not a problem, i actually like it now.

By the way, the weather effects are incredible good in this game. I especially love the rain/storm weather. It's so good that i have second thoughts on going out in the game Very Happy

To people who are moaning about the game's missing textures, sound etc. When i first burned the game with Alcohol I had the same problems, the game was unplayable. But then I burned the iso file again with DVD Dcyripter and it worked fine. Just to let you know.

And this is the best game in the trilogy. The graphics are a bit better than previous GTA games. Animations are done really good. When you press L1 shoulder button, CJ's stats comes up, which shows things like Respect, Stamina, Fat, and so on. Cars look and feel better but don't expect big difference. You can even hijack a train. The fighting and new targeting system works fluently. In my opinion this is the best GTA game yet. I will be definately buying this game when it comes out.

this game is terrible. i dont see how this is going to be a halo 2 killer. the animations are terrible. the voices are so off key with the players reactions. i played for 45 minutes riding a bike and driving a street sweeper. no where near as many glitches as vice city ( thats a good thing) but it doesnt help. then again, i didnt like any gta's. im no xbox fanboy. i give every system there fair shot. thats why i own them all. infact, im not all that excited about halo2 either. im excited about resident evil 4 more. but st andreas just isnt cutting it for me. sorry guys
