The first next-gen system i bought was the 360 and its still hands down the best. The game selection is just phenominal.I already have a killer pc and played several of the bigger titles on that but even so there's so many more excellent exclusives. At the moment and for the forseeable future i can see the 360 taking up most of my time. Hopefully though i won't need to buy a third unit.

I got the PS3 back in october and suffered from buyer's remorse for a few weeks after. I mainly bought it to play PES against friends but the lag just ruined it. I picked up a few titles through november and i have to say i enjoyed ever exclusive so far. Still at the moment the only game i really play on it is Warhawk. Looks great for the future but by that time the system will come down in price. Better to wait.

Finally i got the Wii just before Christmas. I was never really sold on the whole active gaming idea but playing Wii Sports with family and friends over Christmas really changed my mind. Its a great little system with some interesting titles but as everyone said, its very multiplayer orientated. The only single player title i've actually but some time into so far has been Zelda. This is definitly a secondary system. If you have the funds after buying a 360 i'd advise you get one but it wouldn't be top of my list.

Although most of you said that the 360 is the way to go, I've decided to buy the Wii. The way I see it the 360 is the cheap equivalent to a bad-ass pc. I have a bad-ass pc, hence I don't need a watered down console version of it. The PS3 will offer much more in exclusive games and overall performance (+ it has bluray baby!) but these will be put to use only in the far future.

The Wii, on the other hand is the perfect console right now. It features a new way to play games and it supports games all the way back to the glorious NES. I mean give me one game today that can compete with River City Ransom! With the Wii you get games you can never play on a PC - I don't mean technically since there are emulators - but the feel of these games is best when played on a Nintendo system.

Thats about right on the money, 2 - 4 weeks then your over the gamecube with a new controller thing. BTW i dont think 360 versions of PC games have to be watered down, Orange box was awesome on the 360. Im almost over the controller suck ass compared to a mouse thing Razz

Yes. I love the new galaxy Mario, but they just can't remake a game like good ol' marios bros 3.

the fact that Sony removed BC from the 40GB was a HUGE negative, imo. The problem here is that PS3's with BC is out of production!! 60GB PS3s gets harder and harder to come by.
There are tons of good PS2 games - upscaling and HDMI makes it attractive on a PS3....

It makes no sense to me - not with that HUGE library of PS2 games. /rant out

The Wii isn't a bad choice but as soon as you beat the 5 fun games, it will collect dust. I really hope the third party devs start making some half decent games.

As someone who owns a bad ass PC
(E6600 OC'd at 3.5 ghz, 4 gigs of Corsair Dominator Ram at 1066 mhz, 2 Gfforce 8800 GTX in SLI, 24: Samsung monitor, Logitech z-5500 speakers, etc.)
As someone who owns 2, YES ,TWO Xbox 360's (bought one for my stepson, who also has a good computer)
And as someone who owns an Nintendo Wii... you sir made a terrible decision IMHO.
But, to each his own.
While the XBOX 360 may be a "bad ass PC", good luck getting all those bad ass games on your bad ass PC.

I'll get a PS3 when I think it's worth it. Right now, it isn't.
And btw, our Wii is modded and we have nearly every game for it. It doesn't get played at all any more. Got played for about a month.

We have a projector here and the Wii rocks. I love the games, love the virtual console and I really don't think I will abandon it anytime soon. Most of the people I know got the Xbox360 and I just can't see what all the fuss is about. It's like my pc only with wireless remotes.

Well i for one salute you for following your gut despite the deluge of fanboy hate you got in return.

Anyways give RE:UC a shot, it is a great game that you shouldnt miss, especially in co-op. OH and Zack and Wiki, fucking awesome fun. Even cliffyb of ut fame was man enough to admit his love for that game.

And really freakin' looking forward to playing No More Heroes in a few days. That game is going to seriously pwn.

All the bad ass games available on the Xbox 360... can't get them on the computer. . . yet anyway. Course, maybe you don't consider any of the games on the 360 bad ass. i do. Except for the FPS games. i DETEST playing an FPS on a console. Really. i HATE it.
but sports, arcade, Rock band, RPG games, Fight games... they are all fun.

Hey, if you enjoy the Wii... then more power to you. No fanboy hate here. i like any console with good games. The wii just wasn't for me (or apparently my 11 year old since he played it for about month with 3 games, got it modded, I burned a ton of games, and he hasn't touched it since). I don't think he played a single one of the games I burned at any length. Shrug.
I think the game I played the most was the wierd little Jappaneese fishing game (dont remmeber the name of it) where you catch all these different exotic sea creatures. Dunno why.

Well im looking for a console myself, mainly because of GTA 4. But i dont know which console to get. I had xbox 360 before but it crapped on me in just 6 months, and now im kind of afraid to buy a new one since it'll probably break just as fast, or did the fix that stupid problem (it will be modded, so will not be able to return it). Ps3 on the other hand looks to be more reliable but with much smaller library of games, but it does have a potential. Is ps3 compatible with ps2 games, because there are tons of awsome ps2 games that i would like to play and they are relatively cheap so no need to mod it (is it even moddable)?.
If they fixed the 3ROD problem, i will probably buy the xbox, but if not, it seems like a waste of money if its going to break sooner or later.
