On my main system I have Windows Vista Ultimate Edition installed. I've now just installed the new Service Pack 1 (Public RC-1) for testing. Not 100% sure what it has actually updated but the system as a whole feels a lot slicker. But there is one problem and it's the reason I've opted to type this out in this forum.
If you are running the Paradox OEM BIOS Emulation Toolkit v1.0 I'm sorry to report that this work around does infact no longer work. I have 15 days to activate my copy of Vista according to Windows Activation. Lucky for me I ghosted my system just before I updated.
Anyway until there is another work around for Vista, I'd suggest postponing any updates to Service Pack 1.
Microsoft said that all the known activation "workarounds" are defeated in SP1 . Basicly from what I hear if your faking a Dell OEM, SP1 will require you to enter the serial number in while installing and also activating it...
