You gave NCFOM the same score as Saw IV? Shocked

Wow Surprised

So? Genre might be different, but I liked both movies. Not comparable, but "fun-factor" (or whatever it´s called) was same.

RE Extinction, finally, 3/10

Totally agreed about the movie rating. However i can't resist watching zombie movies. Even tho all RE movies sucked ass (well, the first deserved a better note but only because it was first). Still...brraaaainnnssssss (note : doesn't apply to Lutzifer, the Vegan Zombie!).

In the favor of Extinction speaks the apocalyptic setting - however it was little said what happened. Yeah, yeah we all know the virus infected almost everyone but still they could show the virus taking over the world. Milla Jovovich can't play for shit. Good thing she ain't that bad in looks Very Happy

George A. Romero's 'Diary of the Dead' is coming out soon ...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diary_of_the_dead

Quote:
Plot Outline: A group of young film students run into real-life zombies while filming a horror movie of their own.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0848557/

It played at the festival here in sept but I was away .... supposed to have a limited theatrical release in Feb so it should make its way to dvd eventually ... I guess it is like blair witch with zombies not to be confused with blair witch with godzilla that is coming out Razz Apparently a sequel is already in the works so hopefully it is good. 6.9/10 and 500 votes on IMDb by people who have only seen it at the film festival during midnight madness so that is promising.

@ chiv : who knows maybe dog soldiers 2 will surprise us and we will find ourselves both rating it 10 Smile

Decoys : 7/10 ... it's a very light horror movie without an astounding story, but i found it quite enjoyable
Decoys 2 : 5/10 ... boring sequel

Easy. There were some aliens in the movie and a predator. That is automatically an 9/10.
Minus 2 points for the crap built around it

9/10

A lot of haters of this movie because it doesn't follow the standard movie cutout. Depressing but good Smile

Dang I know that mght work well in theory but you gotta have some good directing behind it... The AVP film sucked monkey balls due to idiotic script and even worse directing.. :/

Well the whole aztec mayan mumbo jumbo was bollocks from the start.

VLC has this wonderful feature, when u scroll the wheel, the timeline goes farther a little bit. So i watch like for 3 secs and scroll until it gets to the bit where the aliens start killing whatever there is. That way every alien and predator movie is very enjoyable. I mean every fil with aliens started like this: Some ship or isolated place, some idiots + ripley or in avp case just idiots....they breed the monsters, and everyone except 1-2 ppl gets killed.

When i watched avp in the cinema i almost died laughing when they showed antartica + this gal in a thin jacket and open face.
If antarctica were like that, id move there and stop freezing my ass here in Moscow

Sunshine. 7/10
I really didn't like the entire twist with the bad guy. they strove to be serious up to the moment the bad guy appeared. His character did not belong to this movie.
Also all this open space thingies: come one they invite NASA consultants trying to stay correct but still don't show. that greatest threat to a human is low pressure and cold is not as important.

Also I don't buy Cillian Murphy as experienced physicist , probably the best on dying planet.

Well IMO he really belongs in the movie as the opposite of science, as a more religious fanatic who oppose everything the crew on Icarus are about. Also take note how the sun appears as the most divine thing in the universe and how fragile we all become when we near it Pinbacker came way to close and lost his mind.

by the way watched "I am Legend" too
6.5/10 They should have stuck to the novel plot. The CGI zombies and deer looked so faked. The plot holes of the movie haunt me. The religious BS at the end spoilt it compltely for me.

Cilian is great in everything he makes, I saw credibility in the character though the biggest surprise in the film is how Chris Evan elevated himself from a plain "american boy-toy actor" to something with a little more depth.

And yea I Am Legend sucked balls.

.

I was also biased about him...and still am. The moment he cut his hair in the movie I saw that flair boy in him from the fantastic 4. And the sun theme of the movie only added to it.

I got the same feeling when I saw that idiotic ad poster for "Everything is illuminated" of Elijah Wood in those blue specs, and that's exactly after Elijah Wood with specs in Sin City. The association is inevitable. But movies are absolutely different. Here's the same.Do they do it on purpose? Are they running out of other actors in Holywood?

WTF the actors should be older to add to the credibility of this movie. There's no love sequencies in this one, so what's the point in youth of actors?

Well as long as film is bound by studios you will always have to deal with well known actors getting cast. But its how Directors use them, Heath Ledger as the new joker in "The Dark Knight" seems bizarre and just plain stupid but rather it seems like the greatest idea ever when you actually see the trailer and read about Ledgers struggle to become the joker.

Danny Boyle had to have Chris Evans but tied him in a more unusual role and I really think he did a good job (as did Rodriquez with Wood in Sin City)

NeXT - 7/10 Good all around movie. I'm kind of upset I put this movie off for so long due to the reviews on this board. You people should be ashamed of yourselves!

Evolution - 6/10 Entertaining. Funny movie. Just what I needed. Story progression was kind of weak, Seann William Scott was... well, will he ever be anyone but Stifler?

2 movies that made me realize that I shouldn't listen to other people's opinions.

Well conidering i watched aliens like a gazzilion times, i was somewhat let down by the quality of the hd film.

I do like the film very much, to me its just the action sequences when i look in todays perspective arent anymore as enjoyable as the later movies.

Ofcourse when i watched the movie the first time on VHS, i was blown away by it, but 15 years later....its starting to show its age.
Thats why a 7/10

nouseforaname
The story of aliens and alien and alien3 is way better than te crap they came up with in avp. But the action sequences are just as good. And when i go and watch an alien movie, thats preety much all i care about, since the story in 1 shape or another will e the same..isolated place, with a handful of humans vs whatever.

So yes, i really do think if you skip avp's beggining and close your eyes on the rediculous pyramid mumbo jumbo, avp is just as good as aliens, alien etc.

TBH my favourite movie of the alien franchise is aliens and aliens: ressurection.

u rated aliens a 7... wow... ive seen a lot of bad ratings here but thats just the worst rating ever... and you also put a dent in the rating based on quality? come on... the visuals are on par and many times BETTER than some of the cheap and synthetic looking crap that comes out today... the acting, the story, the sequences were intense...hell, i still say the rifles in that movie were the best designed and coolest looking weapons that ive ever seen in a film...

i dunno.. i just guess if it isnt spider-man 3 and isnt loaded with 200 million dollars worth of cgi and shitty acting, people just instinctively dont like it much...
