AFAIK you can flash all X360 DVD-drives as long as you have the right equipment.
Samsung MS25 and MS28 are pretty easy to flash if you have a VIA SATA card to use, preferably any VIA VT 6421 / VIA VT 6421A based card.
As for Hitachi it's very depending on what drive you get. 46/47 and the like are real easy to flash with most SATA chip sets around however they are not produced anymore and I doubt anyone even sells them nowadays.
There are also the 0078FK and 0079 Hitachi drives. 0078FK is pretty easy to flash anyway since all you need is firmware toolbox and any original disc when dumping the key and firmware. 0079 however requires the passkey to be soldered on before it can be properly dumped and flashed.
Then there is the Benq. As far as I have understood it requires either VIA or NForce chipset to be able to flash it without any soldering. I have seen ONE of these yet and at the time I did not flash it because I haven't read on the subject and I still haven't done it so I can't tell wether they are complicated or not.
There is a great guide out there too, Textbook's tutorial really is the best.

Thanks for your reply.
Just one more question, if I go and buy a 360 now, which drive will most likely have?

Depends, you'll most likely get a benq/hitachi if you get the new 65nm 360's. You can check the Watt thingy on the box when you buy it, i think 175W is the 65nm and the older ones is 203W. But yeah i just bought my 360 randomly and got a Samsung MS28.
As for flashing, I got a VIA sata chipset since it didn't work on my to flash the ms28. But yeah it's really easy flashing BenQ with the VIA chipset as well.
But i can almost tell for sure that the new 360's come with either benq or hitachi, at least i think so.
As well as i'll be happy to help you if you run into any troubles or want some guiding.

Most elites have 0079 Hitachi's nowadays AFAIK but you could as well get lucky and get a 0078FK. It's impossible to say before you've opened it.
Benq's are pretty widely distributed nowadays too..
