 advent children was sooo cartoony! could've been animated rather than cg and it'd still have the same effect

i for one really hope it makes it to the big screen, like spirits within
i can understand why advent children didnt get there , cus most people who didnt play FF7 whouldnt know wtf this is about, but i was feeling nostalgic seeing all the characters back in full detail so i enjoyed it, even if it wasnt very close to the original story
still i think many people enjoyed the RE movies without playing the games
so it kinda made a name out of the movies itself, so i think many would be intrested to see this one on the big screen

old news, old teaser. you could have atleast posted when there was a new trailer or something
and i liked advent children... it was full of action which was what i was hoping for... the story was pretty dumb, but shit... it was final fantasy, atleast it was consistant with the game, so i dont see how anyone expected more...

Maybe we will get this in cinemas as well.
AC was in cinema here as well. Only on a movie festival, but at least you could see it in cinema. And it was the japanese sound with subtitles, so not a horribly dubbed version.

its a pity that only the japs are making cgi films for teens and up - and they arent making enough of em... the yanks only make it for kids/familes unfortunately... not saying those films are crap, many of them are quite good... its just that id like to see the yanks take the gloves off, and for the rest of the world to step up, and start making more films like beowulf (which hopefully isnt a one-off) and the ff's.

I think the style is a bit over the top too, but i really liked it cause i loved FF7 as a game.
I still think SW just looked awesome, and nothing more.

RE: Degeneration sounds good. We saw Leon and Claire in the trailer. I hope they make it more connected to the previous stories and games instead of making it a stand-alone tale.
But about the Final Fantasy films. Both are top-notch CG, but story wise I really think Spirits Within owned Advent Children (and yes, I've played FF7 more than once and I liked the game). Advent Children just had too much absurdness in it. For example the scene where all the old characters where tossing Cloud into the sky to beat Bahamut. That really was retarded...
In my opinion, Spirits Within really was the better FF film.

Well, imo, you cant really compare them.. Well you can, but its just..
Lets just make it simple - Advent Children is basicaly for VII fans only. SW was made for the cinema.
I like AC because it brought back memories of the game, gave more life to the characters we all loved from the game, and did so with good looking CGI
SW, wich was a real attempt at a REAL, honest movie, just with CGI. And it just wasnt good, or interesting. I just watched most of it with my jaw dropped cause of the awesome CGI.

AC ist great for what it tries do be.
It was impossible to make a full fledged FF7 movie in 90 minutes, and Square knew that. They did the right thing by making this a Bonus to the game, nothing more.
Expecting an epic tale like the game itself would be completely moronic, this is a great looking movie which adds a little more background to the characters, and that's it.

Entertaining movie - 7/10.
Only thing I didnt like was the big mutant - at first it looked good, but somehow it managed to look like it was made out of clay later in the movie...odd.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.
