My GF before I ever met her was a huge fan of return to castle wolfenstein but that was about it for PC games. Her own computer was a PIII system using windows 98. Couple months ago I gave her my 754 socket system I built a while ago (AMD 64 3000+ 1GB memory and x800GTO)

Well when she learned the system could run a lot of games she's been on a game craze like crazy. She played thought RTCW again but was getting bored of it so I gave her FEAR (she loves FPS's) and she absolutely loved it and beat it in about 4 days (not constantly playing it) Well I got her the expansion and she's gunna play through that prob soon.

I gave her some other older games like Deus Ex ( I actually think this'll be a bit too complex for her) and Red Faction (game was a bug galore piece of crap) and she's getting sick of Red Faction already.

So she's gunna buy a 7900GS soon so I was thinking of getting her started on Bioshock, Timeshift and prob Call of Duty 4.

Is there any other really good FPS's that I'm not able to think of? GFX don't mean a damn thing to her and she's estatic to play even in 800x600 on her 20" WS LCD lol. As long as it has fun gameplay and the story is good she's happy. Don't even mention crysis or my squirrel will lay turds in your coffee.

games like Ghost Recon won't catch her attention and STALKER might be too complex for her.

She could try Rainbow 6 Vegas, mixture of FPS and TPS due to a decent cover system, maybe HL2 and the Episodes aswell?

It's SM3.0, won't run on SM2.0 cards.

It was 2004, but it's a TPS/Adventure - but yeah, excellent game Razz

Ahh right, now I remember. Well, it still looks great for its time. SkypeZ get it for yourself too, it is one of the only games I have bothered to actually finish.

Only thing I can think off that grabbed me recently was STALKER. I mean, how complex is too complex? I found you could play it pretty easily without much attention or go all out and simply do better.. Still, fantastic game, shame about the bugs and general shoddiness of certain sections.

UT2004 was great online, as is BF2 and BF2142.

P.S. Don't forget my up and coming UT3 mod Wink.. gonna be the shit when I finish it (.. still need to start it though Razz..)

Well, I guess I should have explained what I meant by complex. I meant controls and gameplay management. She's just now getting into PC gaming and came from playing RCTW which didn't have a lot going on for controls. She had to get used to the wasd layout and jumping and melee and what not without lifting her hand off the keyboard. Trying to train her on only making slight movements.

Fear helped her a bit with that. When she first started she was horrible at it cause of the slow down time thing. She couldn't walk shoot and then use a spare finger to slow time down, she had to lift her hand off and push the button. But she got used to it and she excelled really well at the game. I'm giving her on rail shooters atm till she gets really good with using the key's.

With Stalker I dunno if she's read to handle all the extra keys and inventory management etc yet.

Delta Force: Landwarrior is still one of the all time greatest multiplayer games.
Too bad just that there's hardly any servers nowdays.

Also, make her look into Joint Operations and the expansion.
And Call of Juarez, one of the best western shooters ever made.

And by the way, ignore all the people that suggest running worthless and demanding games like Gears of war on a 7900GS.

Well actually I can run Gears of War on near max on my 7900GS KO but her CPU is only the 64 3000+

And I ignored Bart first hand since he didn't even read the first post. If my gf ever was even interested in crysis I'd break up with her.
