Please don't say "take this if you want gfx," take that if you want gameplay."
Rate for overall experience.

I have 2 xbox 360's in the house (1 for me and 1 for my son).
We also have a Wii.

The Wii is never even played any more. . . and it is modded and we have nearly every game out for it right now.

The Wii was fun for about a week for my son. I have never had a desire to play anything on the Wii. Not saying it isn't a good system, it just isn't for me. The controller is kinda neat, I just don't care much for the games.

The Playstation 3, just doesn't have anything on it right now that makes me want to buy one. In the games department, right now, there is no comparison between the Xbox 360 and the PS3. I think the 360 has it beat CURRENTLY. COULD change at some point.

So, if it is a variety of games you want right now (and good games) then i would say Xbox 360. With the latest update, the 360 has also become my primary media player.

Totally agree, like Big_Gun says if you want a console to play games on now then the 360 is the only choice, i know 2 people who have bought 360's after owning wii's..
As for media player i use the 360 to stream all my downloaded avi's (heroes, smallville ect) family photo's and more direct to my lcd, using a awesome free program call Tversity

i only have a xbox but have also played on a Wii

for me it would be xbox360 if your going to play it on your own but if you have friends round alot wii would probably be the best choice as its more of a party machine.

PS3 - Not enough games out for it yet

i have both a x360 and wii.
im using the wii mainly to play with others, as it has some nice party games. but singleplayer games i havent found many good for it.
i like to play mostly rpgs/3rd person action.
the x360 on the other hand i use mostly for all the nice singleplayer games out there. plus most of the games look really nice on my lcd.

I had a 360 since release, after 2 systems and 3 failures within 3 years, i decided i had enough, and had been saving for a PS3 right along, grabbed a 60 PS3, Motorstorm caught my eye I'm a big race fan, and it's been a year and no issues. I'll admit not a lot of games out , but uncharted drake's fortune,Rachet&clank, Heavenly sword,FOM and a few others have changed that , and 2008 stands to be a good year for PS3, the Internet is a strange place you never know who's right, but these are my experience's and decide for yourself is the best way, I'm sure you have friends with these systems, I didn't comment on the wii because i never played it....good luck sorry so long .....

I have a Wii and a 360, but at one point owned a PS3... My Wii hasnt gotten much use latley, Except for Mario Galaxy... 360 is constantly on ( My girl wont stop playing Halo 3)! Its just a great all around system.

I had my PS3 for about a month and then sold it on ebay. The only thing I did was that was install linux on it so I could surf the web and download movies and whatnot on it! Thats all it was good for... But am thinking about buying one again for MGS 4!!!

360 all the way!. I have a Wii, but that cant really be compared IMO, the Wii is a "toy"
the 360 is a complete media center!!!. I can't stress that enough "media center" that is.

Major points for the 360.
- Its relatively cheapish compared to the PS3
- If you get it soft modded you can just dl any games!
- You can watch films on it (after the latest updates)
- You can stream films from your PC, even wireless if you buy the WLAN antenna made for the 360, ok an extra 60 bucks or so.
- You can hook it up with the cheapest HD-DVD player on the market, MS 360 HD-DVD player goes for 120$ at the mo Wink (not sure if HD-DVD will ever beat BR (doubt it) but its cheap to anything compared. It also plays DVDs burned on the PC!.
-Games and GAMES AGAIN!, there are just so many darn games for it...plain and simple.

I guess you will be able to do most of this stuff on a PS3...but not just yet or ever Wink

Remember that Microsoft does Windows=seamless (well almost) to the 360.

Since Christmas I now have all 3

Xbox 360 for the serious Gamer

Wii for younger players and inexperienced players (chicks), although Mario Galaxy rocks as does RE4 (the best version on any platform)

PS3 if you must have all 3 (has nothing on the 360 that I can see)

This is where i am at. Although once the PS3 has more exclusive games, it might be worth it. If you are buying a console today - I would get a 360.

I own the Wii and 360.

Only games i have for my Wii are Zelda, Rampage, and Galaxy. The Wii saw a lot of use in the first couple months but then it collected dust for a long time. Although, with galaxy i am playing it like crazy again. However once that is done there will be nothing for it again for a long time. I am going to get a PS3 eventually but as far as games and modding go -- get the 360!

360 is owning the shit out of the other 2, anyone who says different is a liar lost in denial.

This may not forever be the case, but as it stands as of this writing, you should go for a 360.

I know all the 360 haters are going to circle this sort of post like a rabid flock of vultures saying this is teh fanboi-ism at its finest(worst). But it's the truth.

And just to help back up my claims, I've owned all three consoles for awhile now.

My brother has a 360 for more than a year now, and I maybe played on it 2 or 3 time. I bought the PS3 six months ago and I haven't been sorry once. Sure there are not a lot of games for it now, but some of them really are worth it. I loved Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Uncharted was awesome and I'm currently playing Ratchet & Clank which is a very fun game too.
As I don't own a PS2, it also gave me the possibility of playing God of War 1 and 2, which were awesome aswell.

Most releases to come will be on the 360 aswell as the PS3 (except for a couple of exclusives) so the games are coming (already pre-ordered Time Crisis, Metal Gear and GTA4).

The online system is good aswell (never had any problems with the Playstation Network and it's free) and it has some kind of motion detection. There's a bowling game on the PS3 that uses that and it's fun too. Also Ratchet and Clank really use the Sixaxis in a way to emprove the game experience.

I thinks the PS3 has the most potential.

A friend of mine bought a Wii, and let's just say that after a couple hours of Wii Sports, i really got sick of it. Metroid and Zelda are said to be really good but they're not my kind of game...

Since owning my PS3 my 360 has sorta taken a back seat with last game played Mass effect. Reasion being i'm fed up with the noise of the 360 after 2yrs and the unreliablity i've had with it, 4th console it has been and i've had enough, so no more money to MS, yes the 360 has a much larger collection of games to choose from but right now this isn't much of a issue as PS3 is getting much better. Also since owning COD4 its made me relise why was i paying for LIVE when the PS3 version did excatly the same on their free PSN, esp this last 3/4 weeks where LIVE has been having major probs here in the UK in the evening where you cannot play online whilst i've been happily playing COD4 for free.

That's why if anyone buys a 360 now they should make sure it's using the new falcon chipset. If you look at the box and it says it uses 175w instead of 200-something then it's a falcon (i think). I guess this means you've got to buy it in person rather than online..

Xbox360 all the way, I have 2 360s(one retail..one dirty) a wii and a ps3. The wii got played the first 2 weeks after launch bowling & zelda mainly, got mario galaxy and played it about an hour since those launch weeks. My ps3 has spent more time Folding@Home more than its actually played ps3 games, most of the games are on the 360 anyway and they get me with achievements(yes I'm an achievement whore) they make games re-playable even though I never thought I would play the game again. The online experience with Live is awesome and barely ever goes down(minus the past couple days..the first time in years its been bad). You wont be unhappy with a 360 if you choose it.

also, the Falcon is the new 65nm chip in more recent 360s, but they aren't very easy to just pick them out, its more of a luck thing.

Here's a pic of a xbox360 with the falcon code on the box to help narrow it down.

I got a 360 for xmas from santy Smile I have to say its quite quiet and I discovered that the majority of new 360s (Esp the HDMI pro model like i got) apparently have a new BenQ quiet drive, tbh the things not silent, but its not more noisier than my pc... Definately nothing to annoy noise from it anyways...

Got me a ps3 a while back, havent really used it that much since there isnt any chip for it hey and the selection of games is kinda sparce.
If you dont want the bluray player which is included in the ps3 get the xbox360 with the addon hd dvd and hdmi connection. its cheaper than the ps3, chipable so you can leech all games you want. The only pro for ps3 is that the 40gb i got is extremely quiet, almost so you dont hear it at all. Perfect for watching movies and if there ever is a support for x264 mkv files then the ps3 is the ultimate media machine. But if you want a console primarily for gaming then the xbox360 is the way to go.

I have a 360 and a PS3. And by far the 360 is the better choice.

The PS3 is kinda neat, and i actually prefer it as a media extender, except for the fact my harmony 880 wont work with it because the morons at Sony didn't include an IR port.

And whats really funny, after sonys adds about "True 1080P" and Blu ray "Better than HD" add bullshit, they ship the PS3 only with composite cables. Yup, those boys and girls at Sony are a smart bunch. Whats a HDMI cable at monoprice costs? 10 bucks, and thats retail.
