No, just put it in your toaster.
Of course you need a dvdburner. It's a DVD5 image.

Well I heard some sites report it's nuked due to those bad textures + sounds. Meh PS2 is fine m8, all games run damn well.

I was there and everything was fine. No missing textures or sounds.
Like someone already said, it's your ps2 or the media.
You know even if other games work this might not.

hey guys quick questions.I am having problems with ti and i'm sure it on my part rather tha the rip since nobody else is having these problems......
first of all it loads slow as hell....but it's only on certain loads like whenever i leave cj's mom's house. It literally takes 2-3 minutes to load. Also in some parts of the city the street and everything just disappears until i hit something and it appears (really annoying when their are no textures)
so my questions is if it's not the rip......would it be a bad burn,my ps2,my chip,or the media i used (i use this media for other games and had no problem.
thanks for anyone who can help

I had problems when I burnt the game onto a DVD+R disc. It took ages to load, I got black screens for like, 10 seconds at a time and eventually the game just froze when I changed radio station.
I burnt it off again using a DVD-R and it's perfect. I did actually set it to burn at 1x using DiscJuggler to be sure but it ignored me and burnt at 4x ... still, it's fine. Loading times are pretty quick, quicker than Vice City ever was, it doesn't freeze, the sound is perfect and there's no missing textures. I've had nothing better to do today so I've played the game for 5 hours. If anything was genuinely fucked, I'm sure I would've come across it by now.

yes its about that.. it boots easy, i'm just using a cogswap mem exploit and "Jak 2" ( about 4.1g aswell) to toc refresh then cogswap, it does not need cdloader or anything ... i keep my swap magic discs in the box for safe keeping

If it's 4.19GB then GTA3 PAL will boot it at least.

Hmmm, having problems with this. I have a V3 PAL PS2 with a Matrix MXL chip. Burnt the image to a dvd-r at 2x like i do for all my other games but the ps2 just won't boot this. It tries hard and i can hear the disc spinning but it returns a disc read error. Now some of you may shout LENS! clean the lens! but all the other games i have work perfectly, pro evo 4 boots in less than 3 seconds. The only other game that has given me trouble was the MGS3 snake eater demo. SA and that demo were both pretty big images but apart from that im stumped, anyone have any advice or solutions? tia

yes i believe the dmc demo (what is that) is too small a size to refresh the TOC adequately for san andreas ... put your discs in your pc dvd drive to check the size for a TOC refresh, you will want at least a 4.2 gig disc
if you can't toc refesh using your present system .. then visit swapmagicfix.com and download and burn "Cogswap" .. load cogswap press eject and load highest toc ps2 disc you have ? (must be an original ps2 game or demo disc of more than 4.2g for SA) then when you see "PS2 DVD Rom" press "x" to refresh TOC then depending on what your chip does swap to the san andreas backup ... to swap you may have to use the "knife trick"

check the sfv file to see which rar files are corrupted. (use an sfv check program)
redownload those rars.

The game runs here well, but when I steal a car and drive fast to an other part of town the textures are scewed up or arent even there.
And when I start the first mission the ps2 keeps zooming (Like it is trying to read the disc) and it doesnt respond anymore.
I've burned the dvd with nero (8x dvd+r).
Should I try burning with alcohol and lower speed (or maybe dvd-r?).
I use AR2 v2 as boot disc, pleaze help me someone.
I used to suck dicks for coke

Yes I would try burning at a slower speed. I personally think you'll have better luck trying a -R disc though. I had no luck with the game on my +R media but I burnt it on a -R and it's fine. I burnt both at 4x so maybe the +R would've worked better if I'd burnt at 1x, but I can't be arsed - it works great on my Ritek -R media.
