My memory stick recently died, I can't format it using windows or killdisk. Killdisk does allow me to view the data on the disk (not that I care, just some crap I can lose, I just want to save the disk itself), so it seems this is not a hardware fault.

The issue seems to be related to the MBR/Boot blocks of the drive, but I can't seem to find a solution for fixing it. Any thoughts would be great!

2Gb, I've now tried re-writing the MBR manually but had no luck. I keep getting device I/O errors which simply confuse me. I'm guessing the thing is just dead, maybe a number of damaged sectors are causing the whole thing to just not work.

Meh, I give up on the thing. The only reason I cared is because I wanted to use it for something RIGHT THEN, I might as well save myself the trouble now and buy a new one. Still, it is an odd situation, not sure what caused it to die as I have barely used it since I bought the thing.

Just to note, it died after using it to play movies on my 360, so be warned there could be an issue here (although its more likely that the stick just needed to die anyway)..

Nah, as long as you don't drag it out when something is transfering or otherwise, you're fine.
