Hello, i wondered if anyone can help. I've got a wireless and LAN card in my PC. I want windows to use the Wireless connection for internet browsing, instead of the LAN connection.

The reason for this is because I have a "network over the power lines" system which isn't amazing in my flat, and this is supplying my LAN by the PC with Internet. However, its not a great connection and only gets about 3-4mbps. My wireless (when the LAN is unplugged), gets 6-7mps) when downloading. I want windows to use the wireless card by default for the internet connection, however I still require the lan for connecting the PC to my Xbox.

Does anyone follow?

Thanks Wink

In the network settings on your computer change the LAN from DHCP to fixed and give it an appropriate IP address and network mask. Make sure you leave gateway empty.

That way your computer will only be able to use the internet over wireless, but still access devices in the LAN. Your xbox will behave normally and connect over the LAN to internet.
