Yes, I agree. I think that Witcher class is one of the most appealing things about this RPG. Gameplay and dialogues may be sometime a bit rough, and you don’t really have a lot choices to customize you’re class, but how well it’s implemented into the world is unique. Every single story detail and quest fits into the monster slayer role. To kill, he must first prepare. Find a book about the targeted monster, brew some potions, bombs. Coat his weapon and find best weapon style for it. And then, after the kill, he goes with his trophies to the contractor for his pay.

I think it's only the first one "Last wish" who is translated...they're waiting to see how it will do before they do the rest of the books.

Agatha Christie also wrote thousand pages of her detective stories and all of them were short novels.

the first book is a concatenation of short stories but the rest is a story with a connected plot

Hmmm... It's already too late. There is a polish production of Witcher (miniseries - 10 episodes AFAIK) and let me say that unfortunately it sucks big time.
But lets hope that some serious company buy the rights to make a movie and hopefully do it in the right way.

I hope ea stay away from this game.
They have messed up so many games over the years.

Quote: | Played the demo and I am happy to announce the LOAD TIMES ARE COMPLETELY FIXED! I was amazed!!
Loading of the "outerworld" areas (Outskirts of Vizima) has been cut by more than two thirds! Interiors take at most 5 seconds to load, and returning to the outerworld area can take as little as 3 to 5 seconds once it's been cached in your memory (used to take 50 seconds to 1 minute 20 seconds for me). Quicksaving takes 2-3 seconds! And quickloading (if you load from the same area as your savegame is in) takes 4-5 seconds. |

well thats great news then, because 5 to 10 seconds used to be standard for me... so hopefully if scaling holds true, should be almost insantaneous for me after the patch...

I finished the game but have one question: where can you find cockatrice? Found one in the sewers but that's it.

No it's that chicken like creature. Couldn't find the bastards anywhere even though I got a quest to kill them. I'm pretty sure I checked all the locations.

Basilisks respawn on that island regulary. I had 3 of them there each time I visited. And in the sewers there are no more cockatrice, there was just one with a trophy but now there are only drowned dead.

well i went back to the island MANY times, at different times of day, and i couldnt see ANY more than the first 2 i killed... saw a shitload of wyverns at the far end by the temple thing, but no basilisks... must have been a bug perhaps or something that i did or didnt do... oh well... maybe ill have better luck the second time i play through.
ordered the limited edition btw thats how impressed i was with the game and how much i enjoyed it.
