Quote: | According to current plans, Nvidia plans to introduce its Geforce 9 series high end part codenamed G100 around march 2008.
We don’t know many details, but we do know that the chip should end up faster than two G92 D8E dual PCB card which is scheduled for launch in late January.
It will be on time to launch with G96 which is a mainstream part. |

I trust a great hardware site with word from official spokespeople over a shitty blog wannabe page that cannot write more than a few lines any day.

You guys are talking like AMD is out for the count. They still have a very competetive R680 hitting the shelves not too long from now. Not to mention they are now dominating the mid-range market.
R700 next next year, who cares. I don't think they've publicly laid out their road-map, can't be all that's coming on their release schedule. Seems like half these sites reporting this are using it as some Y2k scare tactic.

Quote: | Nvidia's high-end 9800 GX2 (a.k.a D9E) is set to see the light of day on February 19, 2008 and not a march release as previously rumored. It's anyone guess why this card is going to be called the 9800 GX2 and not the 8800 GX2 since its based on the same dual G92 chips. It's yet to be seen if this card truly becomes the next gen standard or go down like its 7950 GX2 brethren.

For reference on the 7950 GX2

Suddenly it lost it's appeal... I guess nVidia will be milking the 8800 cow until the idiots over at AMD pull their hands of their asses and do something good for a change...

| Easy does it . Like the 1st post says... Quote: | Nvidia’s G100 comes in March |
Most likely
I think its simply a mix up with the codes here. It should be D8E Dual and not D9E Dual. Makes sense as the 7 series ended with a Dual as well before NV pulled the plug on that gen.

Wait, so if 9800 is two 8800, what will the G100 be? 10800? Or maybe X800?

Added some thoughts in my previous post
I think the real 9 series will start after the D8E Dual. Meaning March!. Or...they are just gonna call it 9800 and then launch the new G100 under a new name, but that does not make sense. As you can see in the 1st post this was already planned, but under the name of D8E Dual...so.

Or maybe they are pulling another GF4MX and naming both G100 and 2x8800 with the same name to cashin from the confusion.

New GeForce 9800 GTX details leak
Quote: | We've already heard about Nvidia's GeForce 9800 GTX from a few sources, including DigiTimes. Those sources claim the card will be based on the same G92 graphics processor as recent GeForce 8800-series models, that it will have a higher core clock speed, and that it will come out in March.
A couple of reports by Chinese site Expreview shed more light on the purported graphics card. The first report lists detailed specifications for the 9800 GTX. Supposedly, the card will run at 675MHz with a 1688MHz shader clock and 512MB of GDDR3 memory running at 1100MHz. That's up from a 650MHz core speed, 1625MHz shader speed, and 970MHz memory speed for the GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB. The same site also claims the 9800 GTX will feature the same cooler as the 8800 GTS 512MB.
Expreview says there will be one notable difference between the 9800 GTX and existing G92-based offerings: the addition of three-way SLI support. Right now, only GeForce 8800 GTX and 8800 Ultra models can be used in three-way SLI setups, but both cards are based on the older 90nm G80 GPU rather than the G92.

Not to impressed I must say. I guess I will sit this one out as well. The next gen will probably not come until the end of the year the way things look...oh well, maybe not a bad thing, Nehalem and a next gen NV gra card for Xmas it is
