play the gold demo as if it were the full version, save the game at the end of 5/6months and reload that save in the full version - it's exactly the same game only it has more pictures and paraphenalia.

CM games always used to be released on the scene about a week earlier than it was in the shops so I'm confident we'll see this one early. Hopefully it will at least be good enough to hold my interest until HL2 although I'm not getting my hopes up.

Fussball Manager 2005 is the german version of Total Club Manager 2005, nothing to do with SI's Football Manager 2005.
Confusing, I know.

I struggle to believe SI would spend the money on SF3 considering most of the fanbase aren't computer literate enough to work out how to download it.

From an interview with Miles (the TWAT), the managing director of SI.
Eurogamer: On piracy, how do you feel about the current Halo 2 situation, the whole thing about BitTorrent...
Miles Jacobson: BitTorrent is a technology that we've embraced, both ourselves and through Eurofiles. We've tried to provide as many of our demos and videos as possible for you guys to use on Eurofiles and we've had BitTorrents ourselves, so we think the technology is fantastic. The use of that technology at the moment is not fantastic at all. To be honest, with Halo 2 leaking, I'm absolutely bricking myself that we're going to be cracked before release. We're using a different kind of copy protection, or different kinds of copy protection to what we usually use, and they're giving us assurances that it won't be cracked before release, but finishing a game... Normally when we deliver a game we deliver it literally 'if we don't get it to the manufacturing plant in half an hour it won't meet the release date', whereas this year it's been relatively relaxed.

Seems it's not using starforce.
Quote: |
We won't be using StarForce on the game in Europe (although I believe the Korean publisher places it on games they release as standard in that territory (and only that territory)).
I've seen various different reports regarding StarForce and haven't made a judgement on whether it is indeed problematic or whether these reports are simply anti-PR from people frustrated that they can't hack the game.
Until I know 100% that its safe and acceptable none of SI's titles will consider utilising it. At the moment we're reasonably content with the style of protection that we're utilising and I don't expect us to be changing it in the near future.
Hope this helps,
Marc
PS> I personally haven't had any problems with using StarForce protected games (namely Chaos League) on my home PC. It has a CD burner etc. and this hasn't misbehaved since it was installed (I use Nero for backing up my 'homework' if you were wondering).
This is obviously an isolated case and in no way indicative that its 'problem-free' but I thought I'd mention it ...

If they were going to use Starforce, the demo would have used it as all demos of Starforce'd games do (something to do with encrypting every executable to stop crackers getting any insight.
